trying to decide between the 2...which do you prefer and why?

my family (dh, dss 18 & 15) is very "go for it" kinda people...willing to try new things, especially food wise. pretty adventurous. trying to book our reservation. we can't do both...but wanted to settle on one...

any suggestions/thoughts welcomed! tia!! :flower:

Jiko. Always good. A bit more adventurous imo. The seared duck is outstanding! Orange and anise cake? Two please!

We are doing both for the first time on our upcoming trip, but if I had to choose one it would be Jiko !

With 2 teen boys, the Boma buffet might be a good value... ;)

But of the 2 suggested, I would vote for Jiko.

Another vote for JIKO, not a fan of Sanaa (although I may be in the minority on that).

Sanaa's got the more "traditional" idian/north african food and the bread service is tough to beat. However, Jiko's quieter, more upscale and has more out-there ingredients with more contemporary presentation.

I couldn't decide either, so I booked both.

My whole extended family Hated Jiko's -all 7 adults who like CG at Contempory.
I know the food is totally different than CG.
I'm the one who made the ressies and had to take the heat for it.
I haven't eaten at Sanaa so I can't comment.

Love both. Jiko is more upscale. Sanaa is more casual. A pro for Sanaa would be watching animals out the windows - depending on the time of day and how close your table is.

We love both. Hubby & I are adventurous whereas my Mom is not. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals at both locations. The food was "normal" enough she felt comfortable, yet was different and nothing like we'd order at home.

Jiko is more elegant. The food and dining experience is higher end. Your kids are old enough they should feel fine.

Sanaa we found more adventurous. It is smaller and homey. The bread service is to die for. I am now a huge fan of butter chicken. Hubby would eat here everyday just for the kulfi dessert (African ice cream.)

I really don't think you can go wrong with either! I don't think either restaurant is particularly adventurous, but that obviously depends on what you are used to. DH and I usually choose to go to Jiko, as we have some favorite dishes there, and just love the restaurant in general, but every time we make it over to Sanaa we both comment that we should dine there more often.
