Sanaa or Boma?

For those who have tried Sanaa and Boma, which would you recommend and why? We are generally an adventurous family, but my mother cannot handle any heat (no chilies, no cayenne, natha :scared1:). At Sanna, can I assume that the beef short-ribs are not spicy? I also think she would like the cornish hen (unless the spice-rub has any kick to it, in which case it's out).

I was all gung-ho for Boma, but the Sanaa menu looks good, and the windows to the Savannah sound very cool... On the other hand, at Boma, my mother could "graze" and find something she liked (vs Sanaa where she is stuck with what she ordered...)

I am having pre-selection "buyer's remorse" (I make my ADRs this Sunday and am going back and forth...) Help sway me! TIA!

I prefer Sanaa. You're right, the braised shortribs are not spicy -- nothing I had was very spicy, but I have a high tolerance. If you eat there, you might want to request the food be made less spicy for your mother, just to be safe.

Boma is also excellent, with lots to choose from. I just happen to not be a big fan of buffets. I think you always sacrifice at least a tiny bit of quality for quantity.

I ate at Sanna last May shortly after they opened with a couple of other DISers. Between us we has the scallop appetizer, the salad trio, bread/dip appetizer, lamb chops, green shrimp curry, red chicken curry, and the short ribs. Other than one of the dips nothing really seemed to be that spicy.:confused3 I love spicy foods though, so may have just been expecting something else. One note though: when we checked in we asked for window with a view of the animals and did not get it. We were seated on the opposite side of the restaurant facing some booths. We all still enjoyed the restaurant though.

For my Sept trip, I am returning to Bomas though. I've simply always loved the soups and desserts at Bomas.

My MIL also won't eat ANYTHING "spicy". She finds heat in food that I can't taste...
I made her go to Boma expecting her to hate it, but she loved it! I am not a buffet person either but Boma is so well done that we always return. There are plenty of chefs there that she could ask about the dishes before she tried them.
I haven't been to Sanaa yet, so I'm not any help with that.

Thanks everyone! Sounds like either menu can "work" for her -- I think I will put this decision back on her... and good to know that some tables in Sanaa do not afford a view...
