Sanaa menus

I've got PDFs of the lunch and dinner menus for Sanaa, which is slated to open May 1st. I must say, I'm a bit surprised that they include beef and pork items. Didn't anyone do research? You can see them on my site.

I found it on your website, but I don't think the links you have provided here work properly.

In addition, there was no way Disney was going to make a restaurant that didn't kowtow to the everyday American and their appetite. They have enough Indian and African influences on those menus to appeal to the adventurous, but a burger, steak and pork chop were inevitable. And you know as well as I that they will have chicken nuggets, French fries and spaghetti for the kids. This is Disney... not Delhi.

:rotfl:

I guess I missed the announcement that Disney was preparing authentic Hindu and Muslim foods...could of sworn the stories about this restaurant used the same words as what is on the menu front: African Cooking with Indian Flavors. I do not see any implied insults in that.

I think the menus look interesting. :confused3 With a better variety of foods then most Disney menus (especially for what will be 1 credit on the dining plan).

And the steak, short ribs and burger give the fussier eaters something to knaw on while those with finer palates enjoy the more exotic choices.

was trying to look, but the links don't work. Geez they have a BURGER? I would like to see if I have been anticipating too much from a one-credit restaurant.

I think because they offer Lunch and are located in a resort they've made room for the masses on the menu. There is still a lot of ethnic flavor on even the Lunch menu.

I am excited by the offerings and hope we get to try it in August! It will replace our Boma dinner, but I hope we'll still schedule Boma breakfast.

I see...the burger is lunch, in place of the steak at dinner.

I want the Magical Star Cocktail. Wonder if it would cost less without that damn glow cube.

I'm excited about this. I got a reservation for the 2nd May and get home on the 4th so will make sure I give a review plus pictures.

Keep in mind there are non-Hindu and non-Muslims in India? A lot of my Indian friends are Catholic and do eat beef and pork. They prepare it in a traditional Indian way though. Also there are some non-Catholics that don't abide by the eating habits of the very religious. Just like many Jewish people do not keep Kosher.

So I don't find it surprising at all?

Do you think what they refer to as "lentil puree" is dal ??

Hi, Where is this restaurant located?? Thanks, Joan

It's in the new Kidani Village section (opening in May) of the Animal Kingdom Lodge ... it's a Disney Vacation Club property..

Gosh, I hope they can pull this off. I love Indian food, and maybe I can coax my poor DW, the Queen of Pickiness, to at least give this a shot. She's pretty game.

There is probably a separate dessert menu which wasn't included in the regular menu. They've got to have desserts, they're on the dining plan.

Indian Muslims would eat beef - moreover, a lot of Americans expect beef on a menu. I don't see pork.

Looks very similar to the Indian restaurant near my house I frequent - run by an Indian family and frequented by a lot of Indians. I don't order beef there, it isn't very good, but its on the menu in deference to American tastes - besides, I crave Palak Paneer....
