Just posted the opening menus for Sanaa on my site. you can see the lunch, dinner, dessert, wine and kid's menus here.

Although it's been referred to as an Indian restaurant, Sanaa is being billed as an African restaurant with Indian spicing, hence the presence of beef and pork.

I've also learned that Sanaa will be a "family style" restaurant, which means it will not be an upper-tier expereince along the lines of Jiko, Citricos or Flying Fish Cafe.

your first link doesn't work but I did find it by the link in your signature and looking under African.

I have to say I am disappointed in the kids menu. I was hoping they would do something along the lines of what they offer at Jiko.

Maybe it's relevant that Jiko costs 2 DDP credits and Sanaa only one.

Thanks for taking the time to post this Scott.

I am looking forward to eating here on May 22:banana:

Thanks for posting. Can't wait to try! When you say family style I think of Ohana's where they place everything in the middle but this looks like individual servings - can you elaborate.

Thanks
Judith

I was thinking the same thing.

Sanaa is not a fixed price menu served family style (you get everything on the menu in big bowls and share it) like Ohana. When the OP said "family style" I am sure he meant in contrast to a signature restaurant.

I'll be there just before you. Just a little over two weeks, just a little over two weeks, just a little over two weeks, JUST a little over two weeks. Not that I'm excited or anything you understand.:rotfl: I was supposed to have two people joining me, but one might not get in in time, and the other backed out after seeing the menu.:confused3 I don't care, I'm going solo anyway.:rotfl:

well, many (if not most) Indian restaurants serve entrees on large platters that are placed in the center of the table to be shared by everyone at the table. So I believe it *is* family style in that sense, but not in the Ohana-all-you-can-eat sense. The CM who told me about eating at the preview dinner there said they served the meal like that. (not that a private CM preview is necessarily indicative of what the restaurant will be like for us "regular" folk!)

I'll be sitting down to dinner there 3 weeks from today! I am SOOOOO excited, too!!!!:banana::banana::banana:

Sanaa isn't an Indian restaurant. It's a Disney version of an Indian restaurant. Disney doesn't often do authentic. It looks like if you order the breads or something you might be able to share them with the table but everything else looks like an a la carte menu which could of course be shared amongst those at the table if you wish. it does not look like Ohana which has a set menu.

The distinction regarding "family style" at WDW doubtless makes a huge difference to parents of children under 3, who eat free at all family style fixed menu restaurants. Sanaa apparently isn't going to be one of those, so ordering a meal for an infant would probably mean paying for it.

Some on the stuff on the menu is quite Indian. The breads and accompaniments (chutneys, pickles, and raitas), mango lassi, tandoori dishes, samosas, and curry. Whether or not they taste authentic is another issue, but I'm excited to try it. I think they are calling it a "not-Indian" restaurant so people don't come in with unrealistic expectations regarding the food.

Or so it doesn't scare people off. Calling it "Indian" would probably drive some customers away. I know at least two people who are currently refusing to even try it due to the Indian influences. I guess some who are used to Boma and Jiko might give it a shot with the African part thrown in. Or maybe they're at least trying to keep up with the African theme of the resort but be a little different from the Jambo restaurants.

Count me in as one who likely will not eat there due to the Indian influence. I am not at all a fan of tandoori. Which is really weird because I love virtually every Asian inspired cuisine there is (with Thai being my favorite.) This family will be sticking with Boma!

Looks interesting. Can't wait to read some reviews. We're going in Sept. so there's plenty of time to see what everyone thinks of it. Oh, and since DD will be turning 10 while we are there, she'll be an adult by Disney standards so she'll be able to choose from the adult's menu. :goodvibes

So I just wanted to say I got to eat at Sanaa today! I won't post pics or give reviews or anything until the official opening cause I don't think I'm meant to - but the Indian influence is VERY strong! It won't be to everyone's taste but I loved it.

One picture I will post tomorrow is the one I took of four giraffes about 10 feet away from the restaurant windows, eating their lunch while I was eating mine! Just don't have time to do it tonight!
