As the title suggests, has anyone got any particular recommendations for sanaa... Except the bread service, I know that gets rave reviews and we will be ordering it! I've booked a surprise anniversary dinner there for dh and it's our first visit. Both of us are adventurous eaters and will eat fairly spicy foods.

Great choice! I've been 4 times and we love Sanaa.

Well in addition to the Bread Service with all 9 accompaniments the Salad Sampler makes for an excellent App. For an entree I usually order the Potjie Inspired with Butter Chicken and Spicy Durban Shrimp or the Braaivleis which is a Grilled trio of South African Sausage, Lamb Chop and pork Tenderloin.

Have fun!

We only had the bread service with all 9 sauces for two as we were so completely stuffed afterwards but the table net to us ordered the butter chicken and I swear I seriously considered ordering it on a full stomach because it looked and smelled so good. Great choice for a restaurant, enjoy!

I'm eyeing up the durban shrimp and the braaivleis so I'm glad they come recommended!

I'm thinking might get the bread service to come out at the same time as the entree so I don't stuff myself with carbs :rotfl:

Now I want to add Sanaa back on our list of TSs. We have Jiko and Booma, maybe Tiffin's too. But Sanaa...... :cloud9:

I just saw the new lunch menu items and contemplated the same thing but I cannot allow myself to do that, we need to go to DS to try new things!!!!

::yes:: Same! We haven't been in nearly 6 years and we leave tonight; trip starts tomorrow. :woohoo: The only duplicate we have is Raglan Road. We have CA Grill but for brunch not dinner and Boma for breakfast instead of dinner. Everywhere else is new to us.

Enjoy!!!!!!! We love CA Grill brunch, actually prefer it to dinner, and just had breakfast at Boma a couple weeks ago and it was excellent.

Have an awesome trip!!!!

I like their Biryani, that is what I usually order, it isn't spicy but it is delicious.
We also get bread service, sometimes we order samosas.

We love their Potjie options. We haven't found any we don't like but are particularly big fans of the Durban Shrimp, Paneer, and Chickpeas. The Soasatie with lamb is also quite good

We always go to Sanaa for lunch but recently we found it to be too spicy and things we loved were off the menu. I found the Durban shrimp to be much too spicy for me. They use to have a green curry shrimp that was great and a five grain pilaf. Off the menu so we are skipping this year and maybe give it a shot next year.

I'm spoiled for choice here! Dh will probably order something different to me so I can steal a bit of whatever he's having :thumbsup2
