Sanaa/AKL

I really enjoyed it. It's not as good as Jiko, but it's still quite good. It's more based on Indian food, but it's fairly well Americanized. Staff there was excellent. It is dark, though. If you like brightly lit restaurants, this isn't your place.

We tried it in January. We absolutely LOVED it! Even my 6 year old niece ate every bite. It's Indian food, so if you don't like spicy flavors, you might want to rethink it. Our waitress was wonderful and suggested lots of good things. They have some sampler type of things - several types of breads with varous sauces, for example - that everyone can try. We are headed back in June and bringing the whole family. :lovestruc

I've been there twice. It's pretty good and I will go back in the future. The food has distinctive flavors, but is not terribly spicy/hot. Well worth going to if you have never been there.

I don't like curry, but I found an item on the menu that was not curry and outstanding. The sustainable fish, which as of December, was artic char served on some veggies with shrimp and scallops. Beautiful white fish.

Had drinks and appetizers in the Sanaa Bar but did not have dinner. Reviewed the menu and it looks enticing. Will most likely try Sanaa the next time we stay at AK.:cool1::banana:

I ate lunch there last Saturday. I had the tandoori shrimp, which I loved. And it was so nice to sit and watch the animals as I ate. The only "visitor" I wasn't too crazy about was a Florida black racer (I think that's what the snake is called) about a foot outside my window, about 2 feet long. I enjoyed the lunch there so much, I almost went back on my last day, but didn't have time. Oh well-gotta try the Grilled Lamb Kefta next trip.

DH and I dined here back in March. We both loved it. We shared the bread service. Excellent appetizer. We each ordered from the slow cooked in gravy section of the menu. I had the chicken but requested it with the green curry sauce instead of red and also the ribs. That was accompanied by five grain pilaf. DH had the chicken with the red curry and the shrimp with the green curry. He had the basmati rice with his. All of it was great. DH also enjoyed a wine flight that was fantastic.

This place gets two thumbs up from both of us. We will be returning to this restaurant on our October trip. Can't wait.

As far as a view of the animals. We were no where near a window. In fact we were seated about as far away from the windows as possible. But that really did not matter to either of us.

Go and enjoy

Great food and beautiful atmosphere. We were lucky enough to be seated right next to the windows. We had a GREAT view of the savannah.

we did try it in jan 2010 and absolutly loved it !!!!
