Sanaa @ 8:00PM will there be a bus to All-Star Music?

Hello all!
I'm thinking of eating dinner at Sanaa (At the Animal Kingdom Lodge) for dinner at around 8PM ...but we're staying at All-Star Music hotel... will there be a bus?

There are no buses that run between resorts. Depending on what date this is, you will probably be able to get a bus to a park that is open later and then transfer to an ASMo bus at that park.

Buses run for a while after a park closes...2 hours I think?

From Kidani you can take a bus to any park or to Downtown Disney, then switch to a bus to ASMusic. I'd suggest switching in AK, Epcot or DHS if those parks are still open, and avoid the looooooooong ride to Downtown if you can.

Just to ease my paranoia, what would happen if there was no bus to Magic Kingdom from AKL at around 9PM (when we would be finished at Sanaa) since MK closes at 9PM...

If MK closes at 9, buses will be running back/forth 'til at least 11PM so you could still switch there. Like a pp said, worse case scenario you switch in DTD - buses run 'til 2am at the West Side stop.

I'm going to move this to our transportation board in case others have suggestions.

If it were me, I would take a cab to the ASMo after dinner. The resorts are relatively close, I can't imagine it would be too expensive.

Take a cab. Definitely, take a cab. You couldn't pay me to do the DTD bus transfer, especially when it's just a couple of miles from AKL to ASMu.

A cab ride from AKL to ASMu will probably take less than 10 minutes, and be about $15. Going by bus and transferring at DTD, plan on an hour. At least. Remember, you have to wait for a bus at AKL, and then wait again at DTD (or DHS, or Epcot).

Not true. Buses to not take people TO the parks, once the parks are closed (or, according to a bus driver, about 15-30 minutes before they close). Buses LEAVE the parks until the parks are empty (so, could still be running at 11pm) but you cannot take them TO the parks.

Ran into this a couple of times on our trip in January. We either a later closing park (i.e. one with EMH), used Downtown Disney (seemed to take forever), or just grabbed a cab.

We have done this repeatedly. The bus drivers would tell us that the park was closed (or about to close) and we'd reply that we would just be switching buses there. Never been an issue.

I agree with other PP's take a cab. So much quicker and will probably only cost around $10.00

All I can say is that in January of this year it didn't work (we tried at least three different times).

It's only 3 miles from AKV Kidani to the lobby of AS Mu, therefore no more than a $10 cab fare plus tip and less than a 10 min ride.
IMHO it wouldn't make sense to spend an hour and probably at lot more than that waiting for buses and touring WDW at night to save $10-$12.
No matter what bus you take you will be going a long way out of your way.

Find out if any parks have evening extra magic hours if you are set against taking a cab. The best place to switch would probably be DHS. AK is not likely to be open that late. MK is a longer ride and you might have a longer walk between the two bus stops at Epcot. Downtown Disney is about as far as you can get from AKV...and then you have to get on another bus and backtrack so you can get to the All Stars. If you don't mind taking the time, you can save some money and ride around on the buses, but if you don't mind spending a little for a more rapid transfer, take the cab.

What I would do (and it works for me because I am not traveling with any children or anything) is skip dessert at Sanaa (theirs are not very interesting), take the bus to DTD and drop into Raglan Road for bread pudding. That would mean I'd be spending that extra $ on bread pudding instead of a cab.

Just got a quick question... are there taxis parked outside every resort, all the time? Which taxi do you recommend? (Which is cheapest? or are they all the same?)

There's usually a couple cabs parked in the parking lot in front of hotel lobbies' and the valet will call them over. If there are no cabs available right there, the valet will call one for you. They're all priced about the same.

Now I am a big fan of bread pudding, BUT the chai cream dessert at Sanaa is so amazingly good! I would go there just for that!
