San Juan Capistrano SWALLOWS DAY PARADE 03/21/09

Hello CA DISer's!!! We are pretty new to CA. We have been to San Juan Cap twice now to tour the Mission!!

Can anyone tell me about the Swallows Day Parade. This year it is Saturday, March 21st.

Has anyone been?

We'll be driving from LA to San Diego on Sunday April 12. I've been thinking about stopping to check out the mission with my family. Is it worth it? Is there an entry fee? How long does it take to see the place?

We just moved to CA in July.
We have been to the Mission twice. DH & I love it. We have taken family through it as they come to visit us and they all love it. Yes, there is an entry fee, I cannot remember how much but I believe $10.00 for adults...not sure on kiddos. You can spend as much time as you want. They have free self guided listening devices that explain the entire Mission to you. They have a lovely gift shoppe. The HISTORY of the Mission and the SWALLOWS is amazing to us.

We did go to the BIG parade of the return of the Swallows on March 21st but we did not go into the Mission that day. The parade was wonderful. We took the train from Santa Ana right to San Juan. Easy & easy.

There is an awesome restaurant right there called Sarducci's Capistrano Depot and it is awesome. Sarducci's is at the train station right across from the Mission.
