Would it be a good place to visit in February? Lots to do?

What about accomodations? Would be great if I could get something with a kitchen - a suite kinda thingy...

I have recently been thinking about San Fran in February of 2011. I live in Nova Scotia and the Canada Games will be here mid February so my kids will be out of school for 2 weeks.

Thinking about go to San Fran and then driving PCH to Los Angeles to visit Disneyland. Thought it would be cool for my daughters since we're going to Disney this February and they'll be going to EuroDisney in Paris this summer.

I looked at temperature charts and it wouldn't be very warm though, so not sure what to do.

We went to California for 2 weeks (started in San Fran, drove down the coast and ended up at Disneyland) and it was the best trip we've ever had! There is plenty to do but I'm not sure how the weather is in Feb...we were there in July and it was cool. We rented bikes and rode across the Golden Gate bridge, took a trip over to Alcatraz, rode the cable cars, walked down to the pier to see the fisherman and the sea lions..there's more to do but we were only there 2 days! As far as hotels, right in the city it's pretty pricey with most hotels charging $25-30/night parking as well but again, we were there in July which might be higher season. We used Hotwire and got a really good rate to stay in Fisherman's Wharf which is a very good location for all of the activities I mentioned. I'm not sure about suite type hotels right in the city but if you go on trip advisor it gives a good review of accommodations in the different areas. Have a great trip!

I am glad to hear you enjoyed your trip so much. We plan on doing the same trip in October 2011.

Start in San Francisco and drive down the coast ending in Disneyland for halloween celebrations. We were going to do it this October, but then we received a PIN for WDW and decided to put California on hold until next year.

September/October are suppose to be really nice months for San Fran. I think Feb would be cold. One tour I want to go on is of the Winchester House.

We went in October and the weather was beautiful. Not sure what it would be like in February but I would think it would be chilly.

We drove south and stopped into San Francisco in July one year. The days were hot but the evenings were cool. I can only imagine that February would be chilly and cold.

As for hotel, we used Priceline.com, bid on a 4*, and ended up with Le Meridien (excellent Starwood hotel) in the Embacadero downtown area for $80/night. However, parking is expensive as a PP mentioned. We paid $50 for parking, and being in the downtown area, it's usually only valet parking (so more for tip). However, there are usually garages that are cheaper than the hotel, about $25.
