San Francisco trip - What to do?

So, I lucked out and got asked to go to a training, fully paid, at the Ritz Carlton in San Francisco Nob Hill. Never been to San Francisco, so I'm sure I'll be in for a treat. I only have one fun day there, and one fun evening, with no vehicle. So tell me what's the best thing to do, and close. I'd love to see the water - eat great seafood, ride a cable car. Will I be able to do all that?
