San diego zoo restaurants

Any good places to eat at the zoo? Any recomendations would be great. thanks!!

I was just at the zoo last week and found the food at Sydney's Grill and the Tree House to be pretty good. Both are counter service but offer a wide variety of options. Albert's is said to be good also, but was closed the days we were there.

I don't think any of it is very good - but because it's been so bad in the past I haven't eaten there in a long time! (The animals get better food than the people do!) But yes, I'd have to agree that Sydney's Grill and the Tree House are the best options. Sydney's has really good chocolate chip cookies if they are fresh.

I agree that the food is not very good but the Treehouse is a beautiful spot to eat, perched up in the trees!

We didn't eat at the zoo when we were there last year but we did eat at this nearby restaurant http://www.caffebellaitalia.com It is kid friendly and it was so good we ate there twice out of five nights! Enjoy your trip!

We just got back and actually thought it was good. We got a chicken cesar wrap and fries and they were good. also the chicken strips are some of the best we have had ina long time.. The food was better than Disneyland that is for sure! Prices were ok also..

We ate at Alborts, the only sit down in the Zoo. It was amazing. They recommend reservations if you plan on eating after 5PM, though. It was pricey, as all the food is, but delicious and the outside atmosphere was great. A huge water fall, and all shaded by lush greenery around you. It was cool. Staff was very friendly too. I had the chicken strips from one of the counter service and they were not gross. Just like $8 for three, which is ridiculous.
