Has anyone been? DH and I are considering going next year and then up to DL for a couple of days. Are we nuts? What's it like?

I've been to the Pittsburg and Detriot cons, but SD is the grandaddy of em all.

So if you've been, tell me about it! Where should we stay?
Thanks!

I haven't been, but I would love to go!

I want to get to a Buffy/Firefly con one of these days too!

:) I know this is a stretch, but somebody had to have gone before...Anybody?

I went but it was about 10 years ago. My dad used to own a comic store, so we went for the entire time which was about 3-4 days (I think). It was good, we sat in on a few selling seminars, we roamed through the many many booths picking up all kinds of promo's. I can't remember exactly what hotel we stayed at, but it was right near the Convention Center. Let's put it this way, it was so long ago when I went I got my pic taken with Mr. T. because his comic was just coming out. This was when Ren & Stimpy, and Beavis & Butthead comics were HOT! :lmao: So, it has been awhile, but you DID ask if anyone has EVER been? :) I do have to say if you are into comics, these are fun, we also went to one in Minneapolis that was great.

I did say EVER! :)

It's just very intimidating to me for some reason, b/c it's so big. I really don't like crowds in tight places. So I don't want to spend a lot of cash and then be miserable!

As far as crowds, it really wasn't too bad. The nice thing is sometimes artists are there and they will sign comics for you. The one in San Diego is nice also because the convention center is right on the water, and of course after the show each day you can go out "in San Diego", how great is that??!! :cool1:
