San Antonio / New Braunfels question

Question for those familiar with that area... it's been a *long* time since I've stayed in a hotel in that region, and I've never had to pick the hotel myself, so...

There are 4 adults with 2 rooms, planning to visit Schlitterbahn for 2 days and possibly either Sea World (more likely) or Fiesta Texas for one day -- I know there are some bad places of town that we really need to stay away from, so can anyone recommend a good place to stay that is convenient to both? And if it can only be convenient to one, preferably Schlitterbahn?

I've not stayed there, but there is a fairly new Hampton Inn right off of IH 35 in New Braunfels.

I am bumping this since we are going to San Antonio sometime in the next couple of weeks. Can anyone else provide some more info? Thanks
