Hi there, can someone please tell me if this is a good restaurant for kids? These are young children, ages 1 through 6..

Thanks, Daisy:sunny:

I did it with my two DD's and it went fine. Although I normally don't do this. I didn't order the 6yr old any lunch. My gut was telling me she would just eat the chips put down in front of us. We normally don't have food like that around the house and I didn't want a fuss at the restaurant.

If memory serves, they don't serve fries, just rice which the 4yr old likes. I also think it wasn't the normal children's menu - hot dog, chicken fingers etc. If you have a picky eater (like I do) I strongly suggest you ask to see the kids menu which they will give you at the hostess stand. Talk it over with your kids to see if they will like it.

They loved the dessert. It was a make your own sundae thing. Ice cream with a bunch of little bowls filled with sprinkles, chocolate sauce. That was fun.

The view is beautiful and it isn't a quiet hush - hush place which is great. Pretty kid friendly.

We have done this restaurant with our children and it's been great. Atmosphere is nice with lots to look at and they can watch the boats from the ride. It was one of the few places that gave us coloring and crayons although we usually have a little something just in case.

Childrens menu is small, chicken fingers and a couple kiddie mexican dishes, IIRC we got a grilled cheese off the menu "no problem".

One trip we were able to substitute fries for the rice and beans and the next only chips. One dd loves the rice and beans the other does not!!

My DS (now 12) has enjoyed this place since age 4. I have always found the servers to be very devoted to pleasing the little ones. Now that my son is learning Spanish he was delighted to practice with the hostess and then with Omar, our server. He was so proud of himself and they made a big fuss over him. He is not a picky eater and has always eaten from the adult menu so i don't have any input on the kids meals but I am sure if you don't see something you want they will try to help you. I am extremely fond of the Chicken Mole which is not on the lunch menu. I always inquire if it is available. They have always made it for me. Last week a chef came out to make sure I knew what I was ordering!!! He later came back out to see if it was as good as I remembered - IT WAS!!! My only word of caution is this: the place is dim - almost dark, so maybe bring a small flashlight or 2 so the kids can color. Have fun.

DD loves this restaurant! Her first visit was at age two. Now she enjoys tacos, nachos, black beans etc... so the food was great for her. We all enjoyed eating by the canal and watching the boats go by. The marichi band also performed while we ate and we all enjoyed that. I know they also have standard kid fare if your children do not like mexican.

We eat there most every trip with our now 6yo. He loves to do the boat ride while we wait for our food! We are planning on going back in Feb.!:yo-yo:
