San Angel reservation .... regretting this?

My DH and I ate dinner there once and decided we would never go back. The tables are super close together - the service was horrible - the place was super dark - I couldn't even see what I was eating and the food was terrible. It's such a shame because the location is beautiful but we def. will not be going back.

We ate there in April and we really liked it. We had always put it off because we were afraid of the reviews. we were so happy we finally went. It was great. I say go and see for yourself.
On a side note I will never go to WDW without going to Tuttu Italia again. Best meals I have had at WDW!

Take what I say with a grain of salt as I have never eaten at San Angel...

The food looks like bad Taco Bell food and is way overpriced for the slop you get on a plate.

JMHO :thumbsup2

We eat here just about every trip - it's the only ADR we bothered to make for our November trip. We love it here

Hi
Could you tell me what the vegetarian dishes are? I heard they had a new menu. Thanks!!

Hi I'm not the person you asked, but I ate there with my vegetarian husband 2 weeks ago and they had 2 choices on the vegetarian menu. They had a vegetarian combo plate, which was a quite good and some type of salad.

Overall, this wasn't one of my favourite restaurants, but the food was definitely edible, and some things were pretty tasty. Service was fine and the atomosphere was nice, although the tables are very close together.

Hi
Thanks for your reply. We did have an ADR for San Angel in December for lunch, but changed it to Tutto Italia. I thought we might be safer with Italian food. We really wanted to sit by the water with a margarita, but we can get a margarita at the cantina.

You could walk to Boardwalk. But, I LOVE San Angel. I think the kids will like it also. I am actually regretting NOT going the next trip.

The setting is truly lovely in the Mexico pavillion but we found that the food just didn't live up to expectations. In fact, it was downright awful and very expensive. We did love Tutto Italia, but beware it is expensive. We had one of the best meals of our visit to WDW in August at Tutto Italia. Dining with children I would recommend the British pavillion or the Chinese or Japanese Pavillions (if everyone likes Asian food). The British Pavillion will give you standard fare that most people like and the quality is quite good too.

We tried it and we are from the south. It was the worst meal of the whole week were there last Dec. It seems people from the North like that kind of food. It is not anything like Mexican food in Texas Oklahoma New Mexico for sure and even other states. It does look good in the photos but it truly is weird food. Cramped space, and not so good wait staff. Since you are from up North try it it may suit your family.

We are from the "north" and hated it. It is such a pretty restaurant we wished it was good.
