San Angel Inn

Keep your PS. I have always had good meals here. Service can be inconsistant, as can be said of most of the World Showcase restaurants. The turnover of their waitstaff there is a little higher, obviously. If you get someone new, sometimes things can be a little slow or indifferent.

Hope this helps!

We ate there in December and DH and I both liked it. They were very busy so the waiter didn't come around as often as we would like to refill our drinks (we drink fast and a lot) but the margarita was good and strong so I wasn't overly concerned with the fact that he didn't make it by as often :) . He was very apologetic about keeping us waiting, though.
DH and I both liked our meals, but I can't remember what we had. DS had the chicken strips. We have lots of other places in EPCOT we'd like to try, but we'd go back to San Angel Inn again.

I too read nasty reviews of the San Angel Inn on allears.net......
I think however that most people were complaining about the service, which i have to admit does leave much to be desired. The times Ive gone the service wasnt BAD, but it didnt have that usual Disney magic Ive been used to (but Ive also heard they arent Disney owned??). Our waiter brought our appetizer and entree (both hot and tasty) without too much delay and he did manage to get us a drink refill...but the service was "cold" if you knwo what I mean.

We have been there twice and liked it both times. Good food and our service on the last trip was outstanding!!!

Yummy... I love San Angel! Two meals there, two great experiences... :flower:

I used to love it, but the last time (Dec 2004), I thought my meal was just okay. It might have been my choice of meals, I don't know, but I prefer Don Pablos at home, and that's a chain. The ambience and service has always been fabulous :)

I do like the counter service in Mexico for a quick Mexican food fix!

I am by no means an expert on Mexican food, but we do eat at A LOT of authentic Mexican restaurants (my brother-in-law swears he is part Spanish/Mexican and insists on ordering everything in Spanish every time we go even though he doesn't have a drop of Spanish blood in him...but anyway  ). I think the food at San Angel is pretty authentic Mexican, definitely more so that what you would experience at Don Pablos, etc.
I'll put it this way. We have eaten at probably 75% of all table service restaurants at WDW, and this is the one place that we absolutely MUST do every trip. Maybe it's the atmosphere, maybe it's because we love Mexican food so much--but we have never regretted eating a meal here.
Keep your PS. I'm sure you'll be glad you did.

We ate there last June and we thought it was okay. It wasnt the best meal I had there and it wasnt the worst. I did enjoy the atmosphere but it was kind of hard to see at times, its pretty dark in there.

This has become one of our must dos. We have had slow service but not rude. All of the staff are very friendly. We have some very good Mexican restaurants in our town but San Angel beats them all. If you can handle a few dollars more, do dinner. They have a really good Filet Mignon that DW enjoys. Also, the Platos Mexicanos is my fav. It has an enchilada, burrito and steak. The steak is why I get this meal, and I dont typically order steak.

DH and I have eaten here several times. We have always had great service. And we really enjoy the food.

DH and I ate at San Angel in Feb. 03. The atmosphere we loved...very romantic and felt like we really were in Mexico :) However, the service was less than stellar, and the food left much to be desired. We ordered the Queso Fundido since we had eaten a late lunch...it wasn't great for the money, and when we got back to the hotel room I was sick all night long. So, obviously we've been hesitant to go back.
I'm hoping it was just a fluke thing, but for my money I would've prefered something with the Disney "magic". Maybe you'll have better luck :confused3

The atmosphere is incredible, but the service is very slow. We used to eat here every year for the ambiance, but stopped due to the service and the declining quality of the food. We're the type of diners who would rather have slower service than feeling as if we're being rushed, but on several occasions, we thought we were going to have to send out a search party for our server for drink refills and our check.

I don't care for the food there at all. I suppose I'm a bit spoiled though because I live in a city where the Mexican food is top notch. But I know people who have been there and enjoyed it very much. It just depends on the person.
