San Angel Inn?

Am starting to think about my ADRs for my very first solo trip - I know it's not for another year but I like to plan

I've always wanted to eat at San Angel Inn but my family never did, so I'm thinking as this is a solo trip it's the perfect opportunity.

The only thing that worries me is that it's always so dark (and possibly romantic) and as a solo diner I might feel a little 'odd' - has anyone eaten solo here?

Not eaten there solo, but been there and seen solo diners. It is a little on the dark side, so it might be tough to read or do much else other than people watch. I guess it depends on what your feelings are about it. Romance is in the air, but I find it cool and relaxing at San Angel for the most part.

I've eaten there solo a couple of times, and while it is dark and you will have difficulty reading, people watching is still a great activity.

I've eaten there once. Food was mediocre, service worse. (I wasn't solo, but at least when you go out to eat with friends, you can all complain to each other about the food/service )

Although I haven't, I know there's a solo woman (I met her through these boards) who has eaten there several times. I think it's one of her favorite solo resturaunts. I admit I haven't eaten there.
