It's between San Angel, Le Cellier and Teppanyaki. The meal is of course important, but so is the atmosphere. I made the PS for San Angel several weeks ago but keep wondering if we will regret it???? Dining with DH and DS age 10. We're leaving next week!:earsboy:

We have ate at LeCellier and San Angels and they are both good but my vote would be LeCellier hands down. Now that we live within 30 miles we are able to try more of the World Showcase restaurants and LeCellier is still our favorite.

San Angel was good but if your kids are looking for tacos and burritoes no way. Wasn't American/Mexican food. Our family favorite restaurant at Epcot is Alfredos. Have eaten there twice and just came back from Easter in DW and had Easter dinner there. Le Cellier is excellent if you like steak!! Ate there last year.
Hope this helps. Have a great vacation.

We have lunch there almost every trip. :) Check out www.wdwig.com if you would like to see a menu with prices before you go.

We absolutely HATE San Angel!! The WORST service and the second worst food at WDW (Biergarten is the worst). JMHO.

San Angel food was okay, as was the service. However, the seating there is SO OVER CROWDED. I can't emphasize this enough. I had been warned. I had read this in guide books and on the boards, but my girls like Mexican. We weren't on top of the table next to us, we were on top of the four tables surrounding us! I can't even say that a table by the river would have been better, they were on top of each other too! I actually felt so over crowded I wondered about safety.

I can't emphasize what she says enough! ;) That was definitely one of the worst parts of San Angel Inn. I could probably have eaten off the plates of the tables on either sides of me, we were all so close together.

The food was just kind of blah for supposedly authentic Mexican. The chips were really greasy, too.

Oh, and Teppanyaki was very very blah and bland, too. It was a waste of money. Those two places are the biggest disappointments I've had at Disney.

I'd say go to Le Cellier instead, which happens to be the best restaurant I've been to at Disney, and one of the best I've been to overall.

We dont enjoy dining there because its real Mexican, not TexMex which is what we like =) PLUS its SEVERLY overcrowded. You can eat off the peoples plates beside you. You can check out the atmosphere by just entering the Mexico pavillion, ride the boat ride, shop in the area, check it out, and not eat there =) Its one of my fave countries to visit, just not to eat at =)

I have not tried Le Cellier, personally. I have heard wonderful things about it, we just can't get past eating at "different" places when we go to Epcot, and since its steaks & foods that are found often, we skip it. One of these days we will! I really havent read a bad review of it... it might be a guaranteed winner for you =)

Though I know its not on your list, you should consider Marrakesh. My fave place at Epcot =)

San Angel Inn is the best choice out of the three you have listed.

We never regret eating there.

Enjoy!

Aren't discussion boards great? You can get so many different opinions about the same thing. I agree with what many of the previous posters have said. For instance, the San Angel Inn does always seem overly crowded. But that isn't always a bad thing. The old "HEY THERES THE MEXICAN DONALD DUCK OVER THERE!!" always works great. The chicken mole that the park guest at the next table ordered was great. And he never had a clue. :tilt:

Actually I like the San Angel Inn. And I like the Teppanyaki. I ate there earlier this week and posted a review. It's probably a couple pages back on the board now. But to sum it up, I'd go again or recommend it to anyone else. As for Le Cellier, it's a great steakhouse. But I can get a good steak here in my own hometown. As for atmosphere, all three have it. Out of the three your interested in, San Angel Inn has the most in my opinion.

But...

I agree with Aimeedyan, Restaurant Marrakesh is my favorite too. And it has loads of atmosphere.:goodvibes

I hope you have a great trip. Please post a restaurant review and let us know what you decided and what you thought. Goodluck!

I've eaten at Le Cellier & San Angel. I think if you're considering food, I would give Le Cellier an edge. But for atmosphere, I give San Angel a big advantage. It (San Angel) is a must-do for us every trip.

I'm copying Aimeedyan's post because it is exactly what I think too. Everyone's tastes are different but we all thought the food was blah, and it was crowded! The volcano is nice and the margaritas are good but they have good margaritas at the Cantina outside. We've had good meals at Le Cellier and Teppanyaki. Our first choice would be Le Cellier.

Three of our favorite restaurants.

But the only one your get consistant reviews on is Le Cellier - which does have pretty consistantly good steak. But as someone said, there is probably a good steak house nearby.

We enjoyed Teppenyaki - which has a great "show" with the chef. And the scallops (which are simply grilled) are wonderful.

We enjoy San Angel - it is crowded (a lot of the Epcot restaurants are tight - San Angel more than others). And it is NOT Mexican American.

I enjoy San Angel, but then I like what they serve. I really like the tortilla soup with cheese in it. I could go in there just for the soup but it's too much trouble to make a PS and sit and order and everything just for that.

I agree that they've now squished too many tables in there. You're likely to have someone's screaming child right in your ear because the kid is within three inches of you.

I like Le Cellier's food better, but not a LOT better.

Le Cellier was just ok IMO. It was good but I wan't impressed. Teppanyaki is really good. We had a great experience there. I have eaten at San Angel Inn for lunch with my sis and the portions were huge and the food was good. I guess it is all about what you are going to be in the mood for :D All of them are good.

Thanks to all who have replied. I must admit that the seating arrangement @ San Angel does not sound appealing. We usually prefer a booth when we eat out. The real Mexican food rather that Tex-Mex is not a problem however since we'd like to try something more authentic and not what we can easily find at home.

I don't find it to be too terribly authentic, though. There are much better authentic Mexican restaurants outside the World, though the favorite of mine is about 45 minutes away from Disney.
