We have 5 days in Disney= 5 dinners. We are going with our in-laws who haven't had the wonderful experience of eating at so many different and wonderful places on vacation. We've eaten at about 85% of all Disney Dining locations but we are stuck on 2 decisions:

San Angel Inn- we want to eat here because the atmosphere is amazing and we've never been here but we are afraid the food is really bad (dis reviews)

vs.

Le Cellier- Used to be one of my favorites and still is a dh favorite. The theming is just ok in my opinion and the steaks didn't seem as good as like 2 years ago.

I want my in-laws to really enjoy their dining experiences, so which one would you choose for the total experience? Or do you have another world showcase favorite and why?

The other question:

We want to do the Fantasmic! dining package but not sure if we should choose Mama Melrose or Hollywood and Vine...hmmm???

Any input on these two would be great!

We have decided for sure on Boma, Teppan Edo, and Chef Mickey's (DD's fav).

I have to say that San Angel is the one restaurant I would not go back to. Have eaten there twice and didn't really enjoy it either time. Yes, the atmosphere is fantastic but we just didn't have good experiences there.

We have always had a good meal at Le Cellier so that would be my top choice. Tutto Italia would be a close 2nd for us.

As for the Fantasmic package, Mama Melrose's was just Ok for us in the past. Not great, but not bad. Are your kids interested in the H&V characters? I have never been there as my "kid" is 13 and definitely not! :lmao:

We have eaten at all of the places you have listed, and I will give you my opinion. My family would definitely choose Le Cellier over San Angel Inn. I think the quality of food is MUCH better at Le Cellier, and we enjoy the relaxed theme.
We would choose Mama Melrose over Hollywood and Vine. Mama Melrose can get some harsh reviews on these boards, but it is really the only restaurant DH requests on each trip!
Happy Planning:goodvibes

San Angel Inn is a glorified Chi Chi's.
If you can get LeCellier TAKE IT! I'm jealous.

When at DHS we always eat at 50's PTC but we are really trying to make an effort to try new things. Could you tell me what your DH likes about Mama Melrose and why you prefer it?

We really like the atmosphere of Mama Melrose. It (for us) seems relaxed and we are big fans of Italian food. DH LOVES the chicken parm! We really enjoy taking a break from a long day at the parks, and Mama Melrose is the perfect place for us. If I can provide any more information, please let me know.

San Angel Inn vs. Le Cellier - In my opinion the food it better at Le Cellier. The atmosphere is much better at San Angel Inn, but the tables are very close together. Also keep in mind that the food is Mexican and not the TexMex that most Americans expect in a Mexican restaurant. I'd say do the Mexico ride and have a margarita at the new tequila bar in Mexico and then eat at le Cellier. That way you sort of get the best of both worlds.

Mama Melrose vs Hollywood and Vine - Personally I do not like either, but the reviews of Mama Melrose’s have been much better lately. I ate there several years ago and refuse to go back, but my parents ate there last year and last week and were happy both times. It is decent Italian American food in their opinion (we are Italian American).

great tips guys thanks!!! I think I will hang up the idea of eating at san Angel Inn and do something else for the experience! Not sure which one for the F! package...guess i will go with what's left!!! thanks for your input DiSers!!! :goodvibes
