hey there!

Just got back from the world and had an amazing time! This was my second trip of the year so I decided to try out a mix of classic favorite restaurants and a couple first time experiences. I went to:
Via Napoli
50s prime time
Liberty tree
Boma
And Ohana

That being said, my favorite meal of the trip had to be San Angel inn!

I was trepedacious going into the experience knowing the overall lack of fan fair for the place, but it was a tremendous meal.

The atmosphere was the first big obviously plus. We had a seat right on the water and we sat in awe of the themeing while waiting for our food.

The service was the best I’ve ever had in Disney! Our waiter really guided my 79 year old grandma through the ordering process, and made her a custom dinner off menu to help with her less than adventurous palate. He was also kind, funny, and brought out a special treat for my grandma when he found out it was her 79th birthday (custard!)

The most important part of the meal was the food. It was amazinggg. Fresh, tasty, and didn’t leave us feeling heavy and bloated.

If you haven’t been here due to poor reviews, consider giving it a second shot! This place blew me away.

I am so glad! I loved our meal there for many of the same reasons you shared. No matter how much I sing the praises of this lovely restaurant in such a unique setting, I cannot drag my family there. Their loss!!!

So glad you had a great meal at San Angel Inn! and the waiter was so accommodating to your grandma!

We've had many great meals there as well!:thumbsup2

So glad to hear that you liked your meal there. DH and I really enjoy San Angel Inn, we love everything about it. My kids, on the other hand, think it is too spicy. Luckily they are both old enough to go and get something else from one of the CS restaurants in WS while DH and I enjoy a lunch there :goodvibes.

I think it is my daughter’s favorite too! We usually luck into the only 2 person table by the water (of course Mom always has to sit with her back to it). It isn’t my favorite but I have always liked my meals there.

Glad you had a good experience. Wonder if they changed head chefs? We ate there 2 years ago. We enjoy authentic Mexican food and this was just terrible. May have to try it again.
The atmosphere was beautiful, but the tables were packed in really tight as well.

Did 50s Prime Time have any antics? I know it's supposed to be toned down, just curious what if anything they are still doing?

People tried to talk me out of my SAI res, but my absolute favorite is a lunch break at SAI on a hot day. Margaritas, guacamole, chips in a dark air conditioned room - What could be better?!

We had the Queso Fundido (DHs request, it was great!) and the two tacos plates (one al pastor and one carne asada). The carne asada wasn’t fabulous, but the al pastor was. The queso app was very filling so I prob should have had a second app for my entree.

Love the food and atmosphere! But the servers keep us coming back. Always helpful at suggesting meals and very attentive. :)

DH and I love the theming here. We have an ADR for our next WDW trip coming up. Hoping to get a waterside table again.

Thanks for posting your positive review!

We were there in May there were six of us and we all loved it. Great food and atmosphere and drinks. Our waiter was helpful and friendly. We waited a little longer to get a table closer to the water but that was fine because our first pick was near the bathrooms where everyone walks by you.

I agree! I’ve been there three times and each I had great food and excellent service. It’s now a must for us!

There were no antics :( it was honesty the only let down of the trip. Also, it was the only meal that felt overpriced.

We went this summer and asked to have a server who did antics and it was a dud. She was our cousin and she told me to put my elbows off the table but she didn’t really do anything else. It was a great meal and great service but my kid wanted the full treatment and this was lacking. One year the waitress had the whole room playing at being a huge family dinner. It was a blast. People putting noses to napkins on the wall for being naughty. People singing. Giant pitchers given to people who asked for too many refills. So fun. We even created “cousins” in the park when we ran into other families that were at our big group meal. She had all the tables laughing and interacting with other. Prob a perfect storm of the right guests and right waitress. That was our fav trip there

This is exciting. We ate there last time and liked the atmosphere better than the food. We are eating there again when we go in January.

long time fav of mine...had a waiter named Gabrielle back in 19992 , then went back the next year( with a different guess) and by chance had him again...he had done such a good job the year before - I remembered him him when he took care of ud=s the next year.....I'm sure he has long since retired. but i always frame my experience with that restaurant based on him- outstanding!
