Love the atmosphere - have eaten there in years past, unsure whether to make ADR for this year - anyone been there lately for dinner?

We were there last year at this time. I didn't think it was very good. Also, my two margaritas were in dire need of some alcohol.

Of course, I live in the land of most excellent Mexican food...

Was last there about 9 months ago.

Atmsphere still nice, but hampered by them now crowding in a lot more tables. Can barely move and sat next to a tray stand that all servers continually dumped dirty dishes on. It was less thna 6 inches from me the whole time.

Food was so-so. Not terrible, but not great. Only disappointing meal that trip.

Service was very bad. CM was friendly enough, but there are far too many tables per server. Barely saw him and he forgot drink refills thorugh the entire meal. Everytime he went by, he said, oh sorry, I forgot. Eventually brought our first refills with the check.

Stayed away for over 5 years, but gave it a try again, and was disappointed.

DH and I tried it a couple of weeks ago. We thought it was great - food was yummy, service and atmosphere were top notch. Granted, the food was not the best that I've ever had on Disney property, but it was nowhere near the worst.

We would not hesitate to go back again. :)

We just ate there Friday night (9-19). The atmosphere was great and our server was very good but I wasn't that impressed with the food. It wasn't terrible but it was our least favorite of the entire trip. Part of the problem might be that we weren't really sure of what we were ordering. Everything seemed to involve some sort of pepper and I am not that familiar with peppers and how much heat they might have. None of us (5 on the adult menu and 1 child) really like spicy food and it all seemed slightly spicy.
The menu that is listed here is also not the most recent. I can't remember what exactly we all had but my husband had lamb and it isnt' listed on this websites menu. I guess I should've been a better Diser and taken a picture so I could update it. I do remember the dessert menu. It had vanilla flan, vanilla icecream with a Mexican caramel sauce, a bread pudding w/caramel sauce, and a white chocolate mousse in a phyllo cup with berries on top. I had the mousse and it was pretty good. I'm sorry I am so wordy. I hope this helps. I can try to answer more if you need any more info.:)

We just got back and ate there also. They changed the menue and I was so looking forward to trying the combination plate, but of course they did not have it. most of us had the shrimp enchiladas and it was very good, large shrimp and a little spicey. This was our first time and we plan on going again next year. It was not loud and the service was good. If there is an updated menue I would look at it first and see if anything appeals to you first. We had some bad experiences from other places but this was not one of them.

We must of been sitting at the same table! :rotfl:

DH & I had lunch here last Friday and enjoyed it. I'm not a big fan of Mexican and was nervous so I only had the salad appetizer but it was very good. DH had the chicken dish and I tried some of it and we both liked it very much. The service was good and the restaurant was quiet. We really enjoyed the atmosphere of San Angel and the Mariachi band playing in the backgroud. We plan on eating here again. :)

We have eaten there many times. I have to say the food was much better years ago. Service is OK, drinks could be better. Not the best but not the worst. Fun atmosphere.

I really don't care too much for the food there. I think it is one of the lower restaurants of world showcase. Don't get me wrong the atmosphere is awesome and I love the concept, I just think the food needs improving. Its funny cause everytime I ride the boat ride there I always smell the food and it smells so good, but ironically tastes so bad.

We were there in April, and the food was uniformly awful. Thought we would enjoy it for the atmosphere, but no. Now we have a new Disney slogan, "Mexico - always a bad idea!"
I wish they'd get Rick Bayless to come in and give that restaurant a complete makeover!
I can honestly get better food off a taco truck for a small fraction of the price. Would even prefer to go to Baja Fresh!

Thanks so much everyone - you guys are the best!
