I'm trying to book a restaurant for the Candlelight Processional. San Angel Inn is one of the few left. I have always heard bad things about this restaurant. Can anyone tell me anything good about it? Has anyone had a good meal there?? I booked it, I hope it wasn't a mistake. :confused3

I haven't been there personally, but my DSIL and DB have and they loved it, so we are going there on our next trip.

We like San Angel. The food is good (not great in my opinion but good), what we love most is the atmposphere!

I think the food is fine, but our kids love it. The atmosphere is beautiful. We are booked there for a CP package on 11/30!!

San Angel was my Dad's only request for Epcot on our trip in December. We've got the CP package booked for 12/5. The atmosphere is great. The food is good, although it's very different from the "local" Mexican restaurants around here. I think it's probably more authentic.

San Angel Inn is my favorite restaurant in all of Disney. The food is very good. They have chicken fingers for the kids who may not like the authentic food. The atmosphere is so pretty.

I went to San Angel in September and I have to admit I was a bit scared based on reviews I had read but it ended up being one of my FAVORITE meals on my trip. I believe this is what I got:
Filete Motuleno - Grilled beef tenderloin over black beans and melted cheese, ranchero sauce, poblano pepper strips and fried plaintain.

I am not normally a steak person, I find that it's always tough and chewy. But the steak at San Angel was WONDERFUL, it practically melted in my mouth. The menu is definitely more authentic Mexican food and not Tex-Mex which I think most of us are used to when we think "Mexican". I absolutely think you should give it a go, btw desserts are wonderful too I had the bread pudding and it was fabulous!

I would take it, if you are used to tex-mex food, it is a little different. But I just called for a CP pkg. for dec. 3-6 and the cm told me they were totally sold out everywhere, just curious when your date was?

We've got an ADR for 12/5 for the Candlelight Processional. I've never done the dining package, although I've seen the CP. I can't wait!

We've booked a CP Package @ SAI for 11/29. I do keep trying for another one though. We've eaten there before & enjoyed our meal. I wouldn't hesitate, if it wasn't a CP Package. We pay OOP, & the appetizers & desserts have me hoping for a different restaurant. Those courses at SAI just don't appeal to me as much.

For those who love SAI, what appetizers & desserts do you recommend? With the chips & salsa, we didn't order an appetizer before. None of the desserts sound very tempting. (Dessert is my favorite part of the meal by far.) Maybe, you guys can change my mind, & make my DH happy at the same time. He wants to go to SAI. I'm the one trying for something else, for a better dessert.
