:confused3 Hmmm ok, I just made ADR for San Angel Inn - I have eaten here before probably about 6 years ago - I have been reading SO many mixed reviews lately that I'm kinda worried if I should do it or not?

I only have one day at EPCOT - and cancelled my le Cellier reservations because i really wanted to try the concourse steakhouse instead....

Any suggestions??? THANKS

Ate there two weeks ago and loved it. It's one of my favorites.

Realllly???? It was good???? !!!

I have dinner res there and was so concerned because there are a ton of mixed reviews.... i wouldnt wanna ruin the only epcot dinner

THANK YOU!

I like ther food and atmosphere... Understand you must like mexican and in that respect there food is good and order something mexican if you order the shrimp over angel hair pasta then expect shrimp over pasta with some odd tasting sauce.
I think part of a lot of the bad reviews for any palce is ordering something that you would not expect to eat in the type of rest. you are eating in like Alfredos which has great Pasta as this is what they are known for and not great meat but this my opinion.

Thanks Anthony!!
I LOVE Mexican food - so as long as they have good chips/salsa and guacamole, im cool with that!!

I know better not to order Pasta at a Mexican Restaurant

:dance3:

I love mexican food and that's why I won't eat there ever again.

We live in Colorado and there are tons of great mexican restaurants on
every corner so when we ate in Epcot I was disappointed.

Where are you from? If you are from Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Texas or california you will do better to eat at a local mexican restaurant and go
to a different place. The atmosphere is alway wonderful but the food
no so much. I also read that they use Tostitos chips w/their salsa.
If so ...shame on them :confused3

Uh-oh - we have rezzies there in August. Do you think a picky eater boys (9 & 14) would like it? Should we get a back-up just in case?

Ralph -

We are from NY -

I was thinking of switching to Alfredos in Italy but don't think I can get a good time there

OP, you indicated that you ate at SA 6 years ago. Nothing has changed. If you loved it then you will love it now. I have been eating there for years. Quality and service are still good.

Just an update- if you ate there 6 years ago - it has changed. The menuwill be almost totally different. The change happened like two maybe three years ago. I still like the place but my family not so much- their favs on the menu were replaced and now it is like "pulling teeth" to get them to go along.

We lived in Colorado for a decade and would have to say the best Authentic Mexican food is in Arizona and New Mexico. Colorado restaurants serve a lot of Americanized Mexican dishes unless you live down around Pubelo. The Bottom Line...people have a lot of different tastes and expectations the San Angel Inn is more authentic than most restaurants found through the USA. Don't worry about what other say about San Angel Inn...decide for yourself...

Its a must-do for me every trip.
The atmosphere and food is amazing.
Take comfort in your San Angel Inn ADR!

The problem with San Angel is that it's inconsistent. Don't get me wrong, it's one of my favorite restaurants. Luckily it's mostly good, or I wouldn't keep going back!

I totally agree, I got were I don't go by what everyone thinks...try it then you know if you would like to return. By the way, I ate there two weeks ago and we loved it!

What type of food does he like?
I still think you are fine with Mexico if you do not like the food the atmosphere is great... Alfredos can be a lot of fun as well..
I think all of the places at EPCOT have something to offer my least favorite would be China but being form NY as well........I do not need to explian..
maybe sort of what some feel about Mexico altough I will say if I compare it to NY Mexican it is as good as or better than most of what what is here.

I have been to quite a few different places in Mexico and Central America, and the cuisines are so different in the different regions that is hard to classify something as "authentic" Go and see if you like it! We are going to San Angel Inn in July to try it for ourselves.

you will also love the atmosphere here. it is very romantic. try and get placed as close to the river as possible. we found it to be very romantic even with our 2 DS there:rotfl: :rotfl:

the food was very good. this trip it was the one place that DS#2 wanted to eat. what makes this remarkable is he is so finnicky as to what to eat
