San Angel fiasco

We went to San Angel Inn Saturday night. They could not find our reservation. Luckily, I had the conf #. When they looked it up, they told me it was for the night before (it was NOT; someone made a mistake but it wasn't me) but they did find us a table at 8:45p. (Original reservation was for 8:15). We were a party of seven, six of us on the DP and one who was out of pocket. The food was really good, the service was good, the atmosphere was great, and then it was time to pay the bill. What a mess. We had some drinks with dinner, and the person who was out of pocket, and they had a HORRIBLE time trying to figure out how to do the bill. It was over an hour from the time they brought us the checks. They had to go in the back three times. Once they charged some of the drinks on both checks. We sat there and sat there while they closed up shop, did the cleaning etc. I could not believe it took that long. Thank goodness I had forgotten to take my DDE card; I think if I had tried to use it we would be sitting there still. Moral of the story, if you go to SAI try to keep it simple, as it seems they don't have the DDP quite figured out.
