Samsung galaxy verizon phone

Old news, but did iPhone upgraders see this about the iPhone 5 and current iPhone accessories?

TAIPEI/HONG KONG (Reuters) - Apple Inc's new iPhone will drop the wide dock connector used in the company's gadgets for the best part of a decade in favor of a smaller one, a change likely to annoy the Apple faithful but which could be a boon for accessory makers.

The iPhone 5, Apple's next generation iPhone expected to go on sale around October, will come with a 19-pin connector port at the bottom instead of the proprietary 30-pin port "to make room for the earphone moving to the bottom", two sources familiar with the matter told Reuters.

That would mean the new phone would not connect with the myriad of accessories such as speakers and power chargers that form part of the ecosystem around iPods, iPads and iPhones, without an adaptor.

That means new business, analysts say.

As a Verizon sales rep, I'll put my two cents in here :goodvibes

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is a very nice, lightweight modeled phone with a battery life up to par with (actually a tiny bit higher than) battery life on other 4G devices. The android system runs pretty smooth and effectively and the screen resolution is hard to beat.
.......that being said...... Samsung is notorious for having repeat call quality issues on the Verizon network. The common issue seen in the store is call dropping, or the caller being muted and having to end the call then reconnect to fix. This has plagued multiple Samsung phones (Fascinate, Charge, Nexus) on the network, and sadly it doesn't appear like a resolution is going to be reached in the near future. You do occasionally get lucky and have less irritable issues on the device, but I prefer to stray away from the brand when I sell to my customers.

On the iPhone front, I can tell you first hand that I know absolutely nothing outside of speculation and rumors to the 5. Unfortunately, we will never know until Apple wants us to know. That's far above my paygrade
I have had an iPhone 4S and it is a great, reliable device. However, the android platform offers a lot more flexibility and, in my honest opinion, a better user experience if you like to tell your phone what to do, rather than have it tell you what it can do. 4G is also blazing in speed and the iPhone can run noticeably slow.

Concluding thoughts: if you are ok with the occasional hiccup in call quality I would recommend the Samsung Galaxy S3. Personally, I have adopted the Motorola Droid RAZR Maxx simply because Motorola has been our best for reception and overall quality. The Maxx has a steeper price point, but the battery life is beyond comparison - I get a solid 18 to 20 hours of heavy usage. Ultimately the most important point is what feels and looks right to you.

Hope this helps :thumbsup2

Here are the steps I followed:
  1. Downloaded and installed App Backup & Restore on the old phone
  2. Backed up the apps I wanted to keep to the SD Card of the Old Phone
  3. Connected the old phone to a PC and copied off the backup files (they're in a directory on the SD Card)
  4. Installed App Backup & Restore on the new phone
  5. Connected the new phone to the same PC
  6. Copied the app backup files to the same directory on the SD Card of the new phone
  7. Ran restore in App Backup & Restore and restored the apps
Hope that helps!

I'll have my husband try this out for me :woohoo: I miss my s2 but hey, I am stuck for another 2 years. Tis life.

Great to hear from you DisneyLifer87! I guess I'll find out how the service is on T-Mobile. I'm on Verizon now, a legacy customer from Alltel which I LOVED. But Verizion just keeps changing things and taking things a way. I lost free international texting, now they want to force us into one of the new plans. No discount on a phone unless we do. No more unlimited internet. So I'm going with someone who still gives unlimited internet (2GB 4G, unlimited 3G).

As for phones, I think it is important to have a removeable battery and external SD Card slot. So that rules out the HTC 1X for me which has neither, and the Razr MAXX since you can't change the battery.

I agree, it sucks that Verizon keeps changing things (usually to the detriment of the customer), but they do have one major selling point! They have the best coverage (at least here on the East Coast).

It was their elimination of unlimited data that got me to order the SIII. Because I per-ordered, I was once again grandfathered into the Unlimited Data.
