Sam's meat?

Well, Alice loves Sam's meat....

We also stock up. We get the chicken breast, 93% lean meat and the pre-made hamburgers (also the 93%). The only thing we haven't liked is the steaks. I've bought them twice (thinking maybe the first time was a fluke) and they have been horrible tough. This last pack DH refuses to let me cook anymore out of...said thaw it out, cook it up and give it to the dogs.

I have to say a big fat NO! to the ground beef, and a big fat YES!! to their New York Strip steaks - absolutely delicious!

I buy all my meat from Sams Club. I agree the chicken breast are huge so I buy the chicken tenderloins which works out better for my family.

Thank you for all the great information! I have to make a trip to Sam's this week and will check out the meat case. Love this board...:goodvibes

We buy the ground turkey from Sam's. I use it in place of ground beef - very good. Highly recommend it.

I get meat from Sam's all the time. I'm particularly fond of the boneless pork chops they are SO THICK and if you catch them when they're close to the use by date you can get them really cheap. I bring them home, slice them in half and freeze them. You just have to watch the prices like anywhere and not get sucked into buying in bulk mentality that you MUST be saving money b/c it's a giant package :goodvibes I am guilty of this sometimes!

I loved the ground turkey too, but I attempted to serve it to my son (who is quite sensitive to texture, but I thought I'd try) b/c it's generally cheaper than ground beef and a little healthier. First time, he said "WHAT IS THIS??? This is NOT hamburger!" :rotfl:

My husband calls them Chickzilla!!:scared1: Seriously, they look like turkey breasts.

Those chicken breasts are AWFUL!!! Just not normal, what the heck are they putting into those chickens are into the meat??? Whatever it is...it is NOT going into my kids' bodies. The breasts were tough and gross I actually threw out the rest. BLAH!

These chicken breasts are grossing me out. I have to get a look at them when I go to Sam's. I hate big chicken breasts to begin with, but the descriptions of them are making me gag.

This is too funny...I tried the same thing with ground turkey breast and my son's reaction was almost identical. :rotfl:

I buy their baby back ribs and I just bought their Prime cut of sirloin steaks. Haven't had them yet, but the prime cuts at Costco rock.

Oh, DON"T buy their skirt steak...the price is great but the cuts they get are so tough it is inedible!

Its the only place we buy our meat at now. We recently bought a whole Ribeye steak and had them slice it for me 1" thick (normal there is 1.25") we got 15 awesome steaks for $75. Everyone was amazed at the meat and kept asking where we got it!

I'm LOL at the comments about the giant chicken breasts. :) But, they taste just fine, and there's not a whole lot of fat, etc on them. I just use a pair of kitchen scissors to cut them into more manageable sizes.

I always buy the 93% ground beef in the big tubes. Sometimes I have the butcher cut it into patties for me. I also buy the whole pork loins, and have the butcher cut it into chops. The pork loin is much leaner than what I've bought at other stores.

I've gotten the big chicken breasts at Sams too. I just cut them to whatever size I want with a knife. They are not unusual-I sometimes (when I have time) buy chicken breasts at a local meatcutting place and they are big just like the Sams ones.
