Sam's Club Disney Gift Cards

Honestly, and this is a wee bit off topic, but try and cut the cashiers a bit of slack, especially this weekend. I am a former associate and I had quit because of the way I was treated by managers and customers.

Open house weekend sucks. Each cashier is responsible for getting at least 50% of the non-members to join, and getting at least 25% of the existing members to upgrade their membership.

And add at least 10 credit card sign ups.. and that's just during ONE shift.

I'm not trying to make excuses, but EVERYONE comes in for their "twice a year" shopping trip to Sam's during Open House weekend- I know the average order I rung up during Fall open house was $500. Most orders are closer to the $200-$250 range. Most cashiers are stuck working open to close on Sunday of open house, and working 10 hour shifts the other days of open house.

Just my $.02

Thanks for the info, but IMHO that is no excuse for poor customer service. We all put up with unpleasant aspects of our jobs and long hours. That is no excuse to snap at a customer.

Oh no, I agree there's never an excuse to snap at a customer. Just wanted to give a bit of insight as to why it was pretty much mass chaos this weekend.

And FWIW, things tend to move in that store... like overnight. It may not have been total incompetence, they may have moved the gift card displays.

There is a myriad of reasons I no longer work for the company, but the biggest is probably the fact that 99% of the time, management didn't inform their department of ANYTHING, so we never really knew what was going on.

I read a thread on the Budget Board a while back where someone went to Walmart first and bought Walmart gift cards with her Disney Visa so she could get the reward $$ (b/c Sam's doesn't take Visa). Then she went to Sam's to buy the Disney gift cards. So she got reward dollars, the Disney gift card savings, and the Disney store bonus gift cards. This is my plan!!

I'm also wondering if you could use the Disney Store gift cards to buy Disney gift cards online??? We don't have a Disney store here, so if I could trade them, then I could use them to pay for my trip. There is free shipping until May 8th on purchases of $75 or more (code SHIPTODAY).

The scene on the front of these cards depicts a snowy winter wonderland indicating that they were indeed a promo for the holidays. Not sure how many of these will last.

I bought 5 of these gift cards and I know you can't use them in Disney, but does anyone know if you can use them in the world of Disney in DTD?...thanks for the earport idea!

We called and were told no! I bought 30 to pay for my trip. They were a limited Christmas thing and when the Sams sold out they don't get more. I had to drive to another city 45 miles away as my DD bought out the store in our city. The next city away was sold out too.

I went to Wal-mart and used my rewards visa(not disney though)to buy two Wal-mart gift card. They were $1500 each, than took these to Sam's to pay for the cards and than used THESE cards to pay for the trip. They are Disney gift cards. I saved a little on the cost and had $300 to buy stuff on Disney.com. I did have to call as you can only use two cards at a time to pay on line. I was able to get my rewards too this way.

Good luck if your can find them. Two stores sold out but, one had TONS left.

The small print specifically says that they cannot be used for Disney Gift Card or Disney Dollars.

Thanks!

I hope I can find some...last time I went to Sam's they had a ton of them, hopefully they still do!

Just went today and it took a while to find them in our Sams club. The disney cards were practically hidden. We bout 12 of the 14 that were there. I probably want to go back and buy the other two.
