Sampling Your Way Through Epcot

I just tried to do this for the first time when I was there last year--First I went France and had a Grey Goose Slushie( they're awesome!). Then I had the lamb platter from Morocco while I sat at one of their patio tables and watched Morockin'. I then went to Norway to try a Rice Cream, topped it off with an Italian Espresso, then stopped at Mexico for a rainbow margarita on my way out......This next trip I will have all different things....but will more than likely STILL have a Grey Goose slushie

Sometimes I think you guys read my mind! Last night I was playing with the plan for our upcoming trip and ended up with an extra evening in Epcot . . . wondered about snacking through dinner instead of having a TS . . . came on here and found this thread waiting for me!

Keep the suggestions coming! I love the idea of sharing as we will be a family of five with a wide variety of likes/dislikes

I would also fit in the tabouli (probably not spelled right). My DH and I stopped and had some with pita chips and it was wonderful.. It was a great snack and a nice rest.

I can't wait! I am going to print all your favorites out so I have a list when we go. Last time we were at Epcot, we ate at Biergarten for lunch which really filled us up and so we only had a small snack in France for the evening. We loved Biergarten and would definitely go back, but I felt like I was missing out on so much from the other countries. DH is not an adventurous eater, and neither is DD so I could never make an ADR in Japan or Morocco. DS and I, however, would love to taste the rest of the countries, so I think this is the route we will take this time. Then everyone can get something they like, and I won't have to miss out on trying something new and delicious!

France- A pastry from their bakery. The chocolate mousse is the best!
Morocco- Baklava from inside Tangierine Cafe. So good.
Norway- School bread!
UK- Chocolate bar. They have mint Aeros and some Cadbury chocolates.
Mexico- Churros.
Japan- Kaki Gori.

Great lists! Lots of great choices.

Pernigotti chocolate from the store in Italy. You can buy it buy the piece and truly you just need one piece of this divine chocolate. Don't buy it to go unless it's chilly when your there. Otherwise it's going to melt in the bag.

I did a mini- version of this friday. Some places I didn't get anything but "window- shopped" and let the slight lines talk me out of over eating LOL. I will be back though for things I missed and repeats!

Mexico- combo platter. I really wish you could get some of these items ala carte because everything seems to come with beans, and eww. Otherwise, YUM loved the rest.


UK- Fish and Chips

France- Champagne and a Strawberry Tart. The tart was nothing special but I love strawberries and they went wonderfully with the champagne.



Italy- Tirmasu and Coffee.


Would have loved to have tried Teriyaki something or other in Japan and black forest cake in Germany... and something from Norway- but there was only one of me LOL! Should have started this on the first night and skipped my other meals, ah well now I know for next time.

Mexico - Combo Platter, I know that there are very mixed reviews about Mexico CS but DH and I get this every trip and share it

Norway - 1 School Bread for now, 1 for breakfast tomorrow morning!

China - eggrolls

Germany - A glass of Gluhwein & german choc chip cookie for myself and a beer for DH

Italy - gelato or chocolate hazelnut cake with a glass of Rosa Regate

Morocco - Chicken & lamb shawarma platter with a habibi dacquiri

France - chocolate mousse with a glass of Vouvray Savion

UK - DH really likes the fish & chips, I might have a bite or two

Canada - Definitely dinner at LeCellier...but that's not really a sample I guess.

I didn't get to try much in World Showcase as I was more taken by Sunshine Seasons (oh, the desserts!), but what I did get was great:

Japan - Tempura Shrimp Udon
Morocco - Chicken Mediterranean Wrap

I absolutely agree about Sunshine Season! LOVE IT! It's a must do for us every trip!

My DH and I had planned on "Eating Around The World" for a date night last week, but our plans were changed a little bit.
That afternoon though we did have the Fish 'n chips in the UK and they were great! I really liked them!
We got back later then I intended later so only had time to grab a Grand Marnier slushie and a chocolate crepe. SO GOOD! They were great together! Definitely a must do next time too. Although next time I want a chocolate and the fruit one! YUM!
We ended up going to Spoodles that night for a late dinner, only a short walk to the Boardwalk through the international gate and it was by far the best meal all week! Actually, anywhere in a long time! Excellent meal!

Morocco - baklava (my favorite dessert and this was fantastic)

I tried the school bread in Norway, and maybe because I took it to go and didn't eat it right then, I didn't like it that much. It seemed a bit stale and hard.

I think I'm going to take this thread and begin making a spreadsheet with the countries and things to try from each. This will keep me entertained since I can't begin making my spreadsheet for my actual trip and ADR's until NEXT YEAR! The things I have to do to get my Disney fix.

We always stop at Kringla Bakery in Norway - DH gets School Bread

PP asked about School bread it is like a sweet roll filled custard and topped with coconut - delicious

Egg rolls in China and Frozen tea cart in China -

Germany - we like to split a brat

Chicken Teri bowl in Japan

Roasted/sweetened nuts - usually they have warm cashews (Cart in US)

I always say I am going to have a crepe at the cart in France but I end up going to the Patisserie and getting an chocolate eclair or other treat and a nice cup of coffee. This trip I will get a crepe.

Not necessarily something we eat onsite but I always shop for Tea in the United Kingdom to bring home.

If you ever have the opportunity to attend Food & Wine Festival (october) - you will really be able to snack around the world!!!!
