Sampling jobs at Costco????

Sorry, I don't know the correct title for this position. BUT....

I was wondering if anyone knows the name of the outside company that hires for this position at Costco? You know the one where you distribute samples of food products to customers.

I don't know specifically if they do Costo (some companies do it themselves others hire from the outside) but a company called Crossmark does hire for that type of position (I know they do Sam's Club) They call them event specialists but I don't know if that is always what they are called. Check out Craigslist. Under the "help wanted" section, select "food/beverage/hospitality". In my area, that's where the food demonstration jobs for Costco/BJs are located.

Demonstrators. Event personnel. Sampling. I used to do this kind of work, but its really really dried up since early 2009. I was working regularly and haven't had an event since then. Good luck. Its first come first grab type of work, so you are going to be fighting other demo people in your area to get your hands on any jobs that might even exist.

You'll be an independent contractor. You might wish to carry your own liability insurance since the company that hires you doesn't cover you or anything that might go wrong.

Some of these companies were having trouble paying their demonstrators too. Some people were fighting for checks. Some of these companies don't last too long.

Not sure about Costco demonstrators, but some store use their own employees, in which case you would have taxes taken out & you would be covered for liability issues by the store.
