My family and I have never been to WDW before but we just booked our first trip for Spring break 2019. I know it's a super busy time of year but it was the only possibility. I've been looking through these boards for a couple days and must say I'm seriously overwhelmed. Especially with the abbreviations, I have to switch between the abbreviation list and the posts 10 times. I digress... I am actually wondering if anyone has put together a sample itinerary? I know we would customize it for ourselves but I don't even know where to start. I don't know the options.
It will be me, my hubby and my 14 and 12 yr old kiddos. We are staying at the HGVC Tuscany Village. Any help as to where to start would be appreciated.

The link above is a great resource. When I first started planning, I bought the Birnbaum's Disney World Guide. I was the newest of the newbies at that point. Then I checked out a few other Disney planning books from the library. It helped me to understand the basics, there were few abbreviations, and I like to have a paper copy to leaf through - as opposed to digital. Once you have a better understanding of the basics, check out websites like Touring Plans or Kenny the Pirate. They give sample/suggested itineraries (as do the books I mentioned). This website is great and really useful, but it can really get into the nitty gritty details, which isn't what you need at this point. Happy Planning!

Touring plans have plans that you can customize, but it is a 15 subscription. Easywdw as mentioned above is also good and free, I really like Josh’s site and snarky sense of humour. I like touring plans just because I can reorganize as I like to get an idea on what I can do, and mark things off as they are done.

We did a 5-day trip (not including travel days) this past Spring Break with our 8 and 10 year old daughters, and this was our schedule:

Magic Kingdom - looong day from Early Morning Magic through fireworks.
Hotel/Resort chill day. Hoop de Hoo dinner that evening.
Hollywood Studios
Kennedy Space Center/Cocoa Beach
Animal Kingdom

Hope that helps a bit! It worked out really well for us.

Actually, there is a free version of the Touring Plans membership that still allows you to make your own touring plans, use the reservation finder, I believe have a much shorter-range view of the crowd calendar, etc. I do believe that you won't have access to the pre-made touring plans they have, but you can still put your own together and play around with wait times, walking times, and all that.

During Spring Break, rope drop and early magic hours are also a must. Another possibility is riding headliners (the most popular attractions, like Flight of Passage, Slinky Dog, Frozen Ever After and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train) near park closing time.
