Sample AP room only rates - share if you have them!

Several posters (including this one!) have asked about AP rates. I did some calling and these rates are based on Sep 10, 5 nights ONE adult. Note that there is a current 5=4 offer those dates (and also note that Sep 3, 5 nights was not available)

The first call was not successful - the agent quoted 10% reduction for AP holders. I found my Envie de Plus and called back, and was quoted the 25% listed for these rates.

In fact, I am stunned. If these rates are correct, the AP is well worth it!!

Interesting - I've been baseing room-only rates on Expedia, which show those dates at a higher rate.

However - I don't understand the list AP prices, as they don't appear to be 25% discounts of the original listed prices. In most cases they appear to be much higher %

Three questions:

a) any idea when the December AP offers will be release?.
b) can anyone supplied an example of last Decembers AP offers - just for interest
c) any idea (probably connected with question 1) when the next issue of the AP magazine is released?.

I too found the Expedia rates on Eurostar's site higher; I suppose that I should have called back a 3rd time to verify but I did not. I also dont' know if the room only rates increase when the request is for two adults; I did my research on Expedia for one adult, and prices were still higher than I list above.

Remember, the AP prices are 25% off FIVE night stay; the 5=4 reflects a free night so four night stay. ie if the rate were 100 Euros per night, 5=4 would come to 400 Euros with a ticket, but the AP rate would be 25% off 500 Euros ie 375 Euros with no ticket.

Does that make it clear as mud?

Thanks for posting this info, very interesting. I'm just a bit confused about the above sentence. Is the Envie de Plus the magazine for ap holders? And what difference did finding it make to the prices?

Thought I'd add some more pricing to this thread.

Pricing for December 19th, checking out 23rd December.

Pricing for 4 Adults, 2 Children - hence two rooms

Santa Fa: £444.84 (£222.42 per room)

Seq. Lodge: £757.52 (£378.76 per room)

New Port Bay: £919.52 (£459.76 per room)

Remember - these are December AP pricing, based on 10% as no discounts for December have been announced as yet.

Thanks, Iain! I updated the thread title.... I'm still trying to pin down dates so may need to check a few more dates in late autumn, and will post if I do get a quote.

We have been trying to find phone numbers to book a holiday with our AP discount, but we do not know where we can get the number. We tried a rteservation number from dlrpinfo but it kept ringing. Can anyone advise me where we can get these numbers.

Angel, I had the same problem - I thought that it was my web dialler but apparently not! It took me several days to get through without a disconnect - try this number in the UK

Based on the information (the Dec Trip) above it seems Expedia does list the room only rates for the hotels.

Then to get the AP rate remove the correct percentage.

Some information for anyone interested :

I phoned the UK booking line to price Sequoia Lodge lake view 6th - 9th Nov for DH & DD (4). As a fantasy passport holder they said there was 10% discount and quoted £307. I phoned back about an hour later with passport number & credit card number at the ready, but the new operator said that there was no discount and the price was now £449. I was annoyed that I didn't book it on the first phone call, but decided that £449 was too much.

The next day DH phoned the irish booking line (although we live in N. Ireland he works in the Republic and all our income is in euro so it makes sense to pay for things in euro if possible to avoid the bank charges for converting to sterling). He was quoted 445.80 euro (equivalent to approx £290) and was given the 10% discount. Needless to say he booked it immediately.

Just shows that there is some difference depending on which operator you get!

Unfortunately I cannot go with them as I will be 37 weeks pregnant and unable to fly.
