I was wondering which is the favorite of the two and why????

Can I request 1st floor or is that being too picky???

You can tell by my posts that my trip is almost here, so I have nothing to do but OBSSESS!!!!

We just stayed in the Samoa in Feb 2005 for 10 nights. We had an awesome room. We were on the 1st floor facing the volcano pool. Our room was very convenient to Captains and the GCH. And, we only paid for a garden view. I also requested Samoa, 1st floor and volcano pool side. They honored all my requests!! Loved it!

When we went last Sept. Samoa was our first choice followed by Tokelau. We didn't get Samoa. Tokelau was great though. It is right by the quiet pool. A short walk to the TTC, not far at all to the GCH or Volcano Pool. Also, we were on the third floor closest to the Lagoon and we got LV at GV prices.

Great to know! I think we're going to request Tokelua! I have a phobia about being on the ground floor, so I need 2nd or 3rd. Would love a LV at our GV price!

Samoa is great but I must vote for Tokelau. Samoa has a great location but Tokelau still has a pool view on one side and great views of the lagoon on both sides if you are on the half of the building toward the beach end. Some of those rooms look toward the Contemporary and some even have a view of the castle and fireworks off to the side. The rooms are slightly larger (the difference in size would not be the decision maker) and there are balconies on both upper floors. Tokelau is still close to both pools, the GCH and is closer to the TTC than Samoa. You also have a better choice of getting a room in Tokelau since there are 144 rooms instead of 54 in Samoa. Samoa is still great and there are many other great longhouses but to answer your question I would try for Tokelau.

All my Poly stays have been in the Tokelau. Sure you can request a certain floor! Heck I even request a certain room. :flower: What's really nice about the Tokelau the end rooms give you a Lagoon View even though they are in the Garden View category. 1915, 2915 (had that one twice) and 3915 are the end rooms. You can see part of the lagoon and if you stand at the end of the balcony and lean a little bit you can even see the Castle :). My last stay was in room 2916. A big ole tree blocked a part of the view of the lagoon. So you might want to skip 1916, 2916 and 3916 depending on how tall that tree is :)

Here are views from the balcony of 2915. I did not have a digital camera at the time and have no scanner, so these are picture of printed photos. :) The white spot on the picture is from the flash reflecting off the photo.

View from the side of the Balcony.

View leaning a little more around the side. But don't worry I wasn't at risk of falling off :)

Check out Tikiman’s site there are pictures showing the view from different rooms

Jamie,

Next time you stay in Tokelau try to get over on the other side of the building and you can see the castle much better without as much leaning. Thanks for the photos I did not know you could see the castle from the corner room on that side.

The Poly god has spoken! Tokelau it is!!!!! I will request Samoa as a back-up since we are going at a busy time.
