Has anyone stayed in Samoa since it was recently refurbished? How are the new rooms?

Rooms are great.

We love this location. Our last three visits to the Poly have been in the Samoa, ground floor...looking directly at the Volcano Pool. Absolutely wonderful.

We have not stayed in Samoa since the rehab, but we did stay in this longhouse previous to it, and it was great!! Have fun!

Are all the rooms renovated? I heard they were, but I just spoke with Disney and the guy I spoke to said he just got back from Poly and not all the Samoa rooms are finished. Can anyone confim this? Tikiman, my Polynesian Superman, perhaps?

Tikiman said some of his 'buddies' are no longer working at the Polynesian and he does not have a connection with the resort any longer - OR - the resort is more hush, no pre-answering, these days.

Polynesian should be done by December 2006 - I guess depends when the work can be done (resort occupancy, weather, building hurdles - never know what you will find behind a wall).

I think they will try to complete as fast as they can. WDW stock is doing fine and so are reservations at the Parks (all of them - including abroad). WDW seems to have enough cash to pay for the work.

I am hoping for a Samoa or Fiji room too :cool1:

we will be staying at the poly from 11/23-12/8 of this year and the view you speak of is the exact one we want - ground floor looking at the Volcano - can you please tell me what room numbers were located there so I have them for when I fax my request? Could you also describe the room better - we are sooooooo excited - I can't wait to start booking things. Thanks a million!!! Dawn

How noisy is it on the ground floor near the Volcano Pool? I requested Samoa for our upcoming trip in July, but I'm slightly concerned about noise.

And is that building refurbished? I thought it was.

We have never found it to be noisy. In fact, we've got three rooms reserved for the July 4th holiday week...and we've requested them to be Samoa, ground floor, looking at the Volcano Pool!

Have fun!

Actually I mentioned than many of the CMs I know will be leaving in the next year or so.

As far as Samoa is concerned from what I know all of Samoa was done. The only longhouses that were not finished were Tuvalu (1st floor) and Rapa Nui (2nd floor). From what I am told all of Samoa should be done.

Rarotonga is being worked on now and Tahiti and Tokelau are not yet scheduled.

I'm glad to hear such good things about Samoa and the lack of noise. Thanks for your help!

My pleasure! Hope you get your requests...have a great trip!

Samoa is a FABULOUS longhouse. I have not stayed there since it's rehab but I hope to in the fall.
