Same day jet ski rental?

My cruise is at the end of January and my mother and brother are joining us. My brother would like to sign up for the jet ski excursion at Castaway Cay but I'm worried that the weather will be pretty chilly. Is it possible to do a same day jet ski rental?

Pretty sure the jet skis are only as an excursion.

And honestly? Only once out of 6 visits (one was a total washout - we docked, but it stormed so badly they evacuated the island and closed the gangways so I am not counting that) to Castaway, only once has the excursion cancellation board been blank. I would never count on an excursion at Castaway.

We haven't tried to do jet skis, but were able to book the sting ray excursion on CC the day before we went there. We've been to CC twice in Jan, both times it was high 70/low 80, and sunny. The water was pretty chilly. We've also been there 3 times in March and found the water just as chilly then.

They are very hard to get day of reservations for. They usually are sold out. As Dug said, it gets canceled a lot!
We have been to castaway probably 11 times and had them canceled all but 3 times. If it’s not a nice day they do not run them- they do not take any chances if the weather is at all windy. If you want to do it, I would definitely reserve it in advance and not try for day of reservations. I wouldn’t not do it because of the weather, they will definitely cancel the excursion if it’s at all questionable.

I agree with PP's. Schedule them or any other CC excursions in advance. Chances are they will be cancelled due to wind or incoming storms. My daughter has tried to do parasailing 3x and each time has been cancelled. We thought we'd change up our luck this past August and reserve jet skis instead, but again storm came in and all cancelled.

Just a heads up we did the jet ski excursion and it is a bit tame if you have used PWC before. You ride in a group with a guide at a slow pace, it was still fun and you get a great view of the ship as you ride past!
