Can anyone explain why there is a salt shortage? Not the kind you put on your food, but the kind that is put on the roads.
The price of salt has tripled and it is almost impossible to buy anywhere.
Some company in WI, had outdated garlic salt that they had in a huge vat. They donated it to their town and their town is spredding garlic salt. I guess it really works good, but the smell is driving people nuts.
I've seen beet salt used on roads.
Sand mixed with salt so the salt can be spread out more sparingly.
So, where does this salt come from. I always thought salt comes from the ocean. You would think if there is such a need, this industry would be hiring and trying to produce the salt. So what is going on?
