Sales w/Banked Points!?

Thanks entirely to this board we are ready to become DVC Homeowners & are very confident in making an offer (all the recent ROFR info. has been extremely helpful, please keep em coming!), on the right sale!!! However, I have called Jerry (Timeshare Store) twice & Jaki (A Timeshare Broker) once, and all three times have heard “just sold this morning”, OK now they are both keeping us in mind for the next right sale, I have also been in contact with Murrie (Vacation Timeshare Resales Inc.), and check for new listings daily (sometimes more) from the above mentioned in addition to DVC by Resale.com, Reid Resort Reality & TUG Classifieds, am I missing something? Our Dream Purchase ~ 150 or less, OKW, with banked points, give or take an Aug/Sep use year. I was ready to give up on receiving any banked points, however have just read of many newbies renting points because their purchases included these ~ are we just being to selective or does a fantastic offer like this truly come around? P.S. I only dream of using these banked points to share our first trip home w/ whole family in a GV, and I do know I could just borrow/rent them if needed, but I still value everyone’s opinion on if these offers do exist?

We bought a little over a year ago 232 OKW points with 232 banked points. We rented 158 to help defray the cost of the purchase. I hope to never need to rent again. I had called Jaki about one identical that had just sold but she was just getting ready to list this one. It is a great deal to get a resale with banked points and I do think it is still possible although you might increase your chances if there are any other use years that would work. Hope you find just the right sale soon!

Yes, contracts with banked points do exist; I got one in February and so have others since then, as you've seen from the posts on this forum.

You've pretty much done everything you can do by calling the resale brokers and letting them know what type of contract you're interested in, since a lot of the contracts with banked points (especially smaller contracts) are probably "taken" even before they hit the internet because the brokers keep lists of who's looking for a certain type of contract.

Be patient and the right contract for you will come along! Good luck!

Good luck with your search! It took me a couple of months, but finally found the perfect contract for me and I'm waiting for the ROFR to go through as we speak.

I would definitely be on everyone's "call lists" for whenever something pops into their offices.

You might want to speak with Shontell over at www.DVCByResale.com because she called me even before my contract made it onto her website! Get on her call list and just hope for the best!

I hate to get your hopes up, but it sounds like you signed your contract around the same time I did, and if you have not received a phone call saying that Disney exercised their ROFR, then I am betting that what you are waiting for now is a letter from the Timeshare Closing Service. If you get a letter from them in the mail, then the contract is yours! I got my letter yesterday!

Oh Geez, I sure hope so. This wait has me goin' batty! LOL

I spoke with Shontell at www.DVCByResale.com and she stated that she hadn't heard anything as of yet and this was a couple of days ago. I hope that she's received confirmation and is going to surprise me with a letter soon.

I set up my countdown clock over a couple of months ago and I might just hit it right on the nose!

Wow. Too bad we don't want to sell...We have an Aug use year at OKW(but no extra points...we use 'em all and then some!). The only way I'd part with my OKW points is if DH promised we'd buy just as many at BCV!!! FYI, we bought ours from Jaki Apetz who was very good to work with, the whole thing was very smooth(and ours did have banked points when we bought it). Good luck!
