I am working on a budget for our TS meals at WDW. We are NOT on any dining plan. What is the sales tax on food at WDW? I am going thru the menus and guess-estimating for each person. Also, what do you think a good dollar amount would be per person for CS meals and snacks per day. We usually do a breakfast at the resort then one CS meals and a couple of snack. I would rather estimate high.

Thanks for any help!!!

It is 6.5% sales tax on food.

Can't help you with CS meals, as we don't eat CS meals. Someone else will hopefully chime in with some tips for you.

HTH, Tiger :)

Go to allears.net and check out the menus :surfweb:. I did this recently to figure out if buying the dining plan would be a value or not for us this time. The answer was NOT. :goodvibes

6.5% at most places. Some of (maybe all of) the "Value" resorts are in a different tax jurisdiction; they're 7%.

Others have covered the tax, so I will try and give you an estimate of cost of meals.

I would budget $15 per person per CS meal.
And $10 for snacks per day per person. (2 snacks)

Some will be less others will be more, but if you budget $25-30 per person per day for CS meal and snacks you should be ok.

We usually spend $8 - $10 per person on CS breakfast, maybe $12 on CS lunch. But we don't buy drinks with breakfast except for DS (we make coffee in the room) and we don't buy dessert with lunch. So it can vary.

For snacks we are probably in the $6 - $9 per person, per day range. And that's generous. I know we don't spend $9 per person, per day on every day of the trip.

It also will vary if you have refillable mugs for drinks. We usually go back for an afternoon break and fill our mugs with soda on the way back to the room, which saves us from buying a drink in the parks after lunch.
