We were trying to gather our receipts for sales tax after our vacation to WDW this fall, and we discovered that the room charge breakdowns to not include our rooms, tickets and taxes. Also, the "receipts" from the travel agents do not have a break down either. Is there some way to get these so we can include in our sales tax deductions for this past year?

google sales tax rate in FL. And accommodations tax rate in whatever county you stayed in.

PS: where is that deductible??

It is deductible in states that do not pay income tax.... Florida for example. It is actually deductable everywhere, but only if it is greater then your income tax does it make sense, because you can't take both.

I can deduct sales tax on my taxes here in TX, and I can itemize if it's more than the standard. I can't deduct hotel tax, etc and the Disney "receipt" from our vacation package doesn't itemize tickets vs. Room etc. That was a lot of tax in there. Is this just fruitless?

The basic Sales Tax rate in Florida is 6.0% and is on most goods and services. The counties have an option, by vote of their residents, to add a surtax of 0.25%, 0.5%, 1.0% or 1.5% to the state rate.

Orange County, which is most of WDW, has a surtax of 0.5% so purchases (including meals) are taxed at 6.5%.

Osceola County, which has the All-Stars Resorts and Wide World of Sports in it, has a 1.0% surtax so purchases at those locations are subject to a 7.0% tax.

In addition, counties are allowed to have a tax on transient lodging. In both Orange and Osceola Counties it is 6.0%, so all lodging except the All Stars is 12.5% while the All Stars, in Osceola County, is 13.0%.

In regard to the OP's question, the 6.5% sales tax on the tickets and the 6.5% (or 7.0%) portion of the tax on lodging would be includable in your calculations for sales tax. The 6.0% lodging tax component of the total lodging tax is not deductible. And I do this myself for my own travels.
