Some restaurants have seperate listings for "appetizers" and "soups & salads." Does anyone know if you can order a salad for an appetizer on DDP?

Yes, you can. I did this in almost every TS place we visited.

The only exceptions that I have read about are entree salads (or entree soups, though the last one I know of was removed from that restaurant's menu last month). Otherwise, restaurants have typically been pretty flexible.

Subject to change of course.

At dinner it was never an issue but we did have an issue at Le Cellier at lunch that even the side salad type salads are all on the salad list which is considered an entree at lunch.

Yup, those are clearly labeled "Entree Salads" instead of just "Salads".
