....well, my mom had 80% blockage in her carotid artery. She was operated on July 6 and I've basically been waiting on her hand-and-foot, until last week, when she returned to Puerto Rico....she called on Saturday and complained that she shouldn't have gone home 'so soon' (she got the 'okay' directly from the doctor, who gave her a clean bill of health) - she literally didn't have to lift a finger while she recuperated at my house and now that she's home, she has to fend for herself. Guess she got spoiled and now she wants that 'freebie lifestyle' back.....* sigh *

Kimmar - since you've been gone so long you may not have seen that we (myself, DH & DD) met Laura & Marco at AKL on 8/3!!! They are just the most adorable, sweetest couple. 2 weeks at AKL then on the Dream.

Today is Tori's 18th birthday and her first official day of college (moved in on Sunday, but today was the first day of classes). She has texted me several times to let me know how much she loves college! (that's Day 1 - check back in about a month!! )

And, her Science teacher once worked at Living With the Land so they have a shared passion!!

...thanks so much for sharing the pix! Laura and 'grumps' look terrific!! Funny, my DSis said the same thing about them when she met them years ago! And her oldest DD was so small when they met, and now she is an 18-y-o freshman at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, who will be starting next week...

GP is Grumpy Pirate who tormented Kim on her Scrollie and Bacon thread. He even quoted the entire "Great big gobs of greasy grimy gopher guts, monster brains and donkey butts" song, as well as the "eat some worms" song. He was a rather sick individual.
