Happy Memorial Day everyone! I hope y'all have had a great weekend. Ours was wonderful, but I'm glad the graduation celebration is done! (I'm exhausted!)

Here are some pictures. You need to know that my daughter aspires to be Snow White (that might explain the first 2 pictures!!)

Went to Maine for the weekend and forgot how many bugs are up there in the spring:confused: I have so many bites on me and we really couldn't go outside that long.

Tori wore an ankle brace and was fine. Her ankle still hurts when she takes the brace off. :sad1:

We were sitting on the wrong side of the Arena - saw lots of graduates' backs as they walked to get their diploma!! It was great though, and she had a blast. Will post some pictures in a couple days! :thumbsup2 We have her celebration dinner tomorrow evening (no time to do it today!!)

Sorry to hear about DDs ankle, but glad she was better:goodvibes

Good morning, Jamborinis!

Take time today to celebrate your freedoms!

Happy Memorial Day!

Happy Memorial Day to you too, I'm afraid today may be a long one. DH and I are taking my mom to the cemetery where my Dad is buried. Sometimes this goes well, other times it sets the "sad" tone for the entire day. :sad1:

Here's hoping it's the former, and not the latter. What's everyone else up to today? Has the weekend gone well?

Welcome. You should come and hang out at the July planners thread too.

Morning, I survived Saturday:rolleyes1. DD did a great job with her dance and had the high score for her age :woohoo:. Managed to put hubby on a plane again and not lose it:sad2:. Now it is time for DD to go to camp this week. She will have a blast. So it is DS and me for a week ;)

Remembering what today is all about:goodvibes

 I can't even imagine the sacrifices your family and other military families face to keep our country safe

While I know this thread has become a "community", is there room for one more...and one more who is a complete AKL newbie?

If you stay at Kidani are you still a Jamborini? Would you be a Kidanirini? Or would you be on some other thread?

also, while I don't know any of you, I am aware of the personal tribulations and sorrows previously posted.....as with all tragedies, the pain incurred and the reasons for the events are inexplicable........

rest assured that time does, indeed, heal all wounds. The scars remain but life ultimately goes on.......be well and be healthy is what I wish everyone each New Year and it is the kindest wish one can offer, I feel.

that being said....

I am no stranger to WDW but haven't stayed at AKL yet....looking forward to Kidani 1br in Aug 2012. That last time i mentioned this situation I got scolded by the Mods because they deemed it a request. That is not the case. I have the points secured. That doesn't mean they won't be mad at me, however:confused3:rotfl:

anyhow, hope your Memorial Day was fun with at least a little time put aside for true remembrance and understanding:thumbsup2

hello! I'm more of a newbie than you are, and no ones chased me off yet, so I think you're safe. :)

Is it true that when ordering room service at AKL or AKV you can specify that it comes from Jiko rather than Boma?
Thanks,
Gretchen

From what I remember, there were two menus in our room. One from Jiko, and one from Boma. But, it's been a year, my memory is a little rusty. Hope someones got a better answer for you.

While I know this thread has become a "community", is there room for one more...and one more who is a complete AKL newbie? Absolutely, we LOVE new converts!!! The more the merrier! :goodvibes

If you stay at Kidani are you still a Jamborini? Would you be a Kidanirini? Or would you be on some other thread? Well, we are Jamborini's because of our LOVE for all things AKL - NOT because of where we stay. (Some of us are owners, some not, some of us stay at the Jambo or Kidani, sometimes not) but, being a "Jamborini" is more related to this thread or well rather the last 5 or 6 threads we've all been a part of on the subject of all things AKL. Some of us have been in this "community" for years and years and years - WAAAAY before Kidani even existed!!!! So, being a Jamborini is because of that - not because of where we stay!!! BUT, once you've joined us........ and you've had your first zebra dome, nahatzu, or pina colava you're a jamborini!!! :)

AND Congrats on your Kidani stay - I LOVE LOVE LOVE Kidani - esp. the 1br. you're gonna LOVE it!!! I have pics from our stay in my TR!!!

Again, Welcome, jump right in - we'll try to answer any questions you have, give you advice, recommendations, etc.... etc..... we LOVE all things AKL/AKV/Kidani related and love to talk about it.......... :flower3:

Hello everyone! Such a family thing going here, love it!

Super excited to say we just booked a DVC split stay at Bay Lake Tower 2bedroom for 4 nights and then move to a 2 bedroom AKV-Jambo set up for 3 nights to close up our trip! SO excited to stay at AK! Last trip, I was the only one that had the energy to "swing" by AK to have a look at it, so no one else has ever seen it! Are they going to be surprised or what...

I hate to do this but I have to start with the dreaded " I know this has been answered and asked before....." but honestly this thread is SO long and I'm WAY to lazy to go through it all right now!

I have a couple questions hoping someone can answer.

1. Staying in 2 bedroom Jambo villa savannah view--- my favorite animal, by far, is the giraffe so would LOVE to be able to see one from the room. Of course I know this is all about the kids right? But MOM really wants to see a giraffe.... any suggestions on the best savannah request? Of course I would also love to be fairly close to the pool. I guess what I'm asking is what is the "dream/cream of the crop" savannah 2 bedroom you can get.

2. Can you wear "park" clothes (either shorts and tees or jeans and tees depending on the weather in early march) into Jiko or do we need to get fancied up before going?

3. Time it takes and easiest route to DTD?
same but for mini golf at the summer/winter course?
Same but for getting to Hoop Dee Doo?

I promise I will do a newbie at AK TR when we are there. 269 days to go!
thank you all so much!!!!
