Hello all! Thank you for the prayers- at least I can tell you there will be no surgery for me in the near future (we're hoping to avoid that path completely, and manage with meds and "other ideas")

The appointment was ...odd. They looked for one thing and found another- all works out for the best though.

now just have to worry about the woman DH was in the accident with on Sat. Apparently she's hired an attorney. She was not hurt at all when I saw her- smiling and waving goodbye to my husband. Funny how this went from "only a bumper off it's hinges" to wherever she plans to take it. Oh boy. all I can hope for is that God leads her to do the right thing. In the past when we've been hit, we've always done the right thing- you know, the whole "what if the tables were turned" kind of thing- but too few people out there actually have a conscience. Thanks for the free vent session. :thumbsup2

Glad tp hear the dr appointment went alright. Hopefully, meds and other ideas will work. :flower3:

Some people are out for a quick buck not thinking who it might hurt. I hope that works out also.

Hello AKL fans!

Just jumping in to say hello! We're stopping by AKL for just one night at the end of Memorial Day weekend. This will be our first-ever AKL stay - I've stayed at BC, Poly, WL and CSR several times each and CBR and Sports once each - but AKL is entirely new! We'll be at my parents' condo in SW Florida for a last-minute holiday weekend trip, and the only good airfare from Florida to home was out of Orlando super early in the morning. So what to do the night before? My husband has been interested in AKL, so this looked like a great opportunity. And our boys love anything Disney! No parks - our APs just expired - so we'll spend the day at AKL, enjoy the pools, etc. and then fly out the next morning. Already made ADRs at Sanaa for lunch and Jiko for dinner. We'd welcome any advice!

Glad to hear that the Dr appt worked out for you.

Hope the other thing works out also.

For some reason I have not got any notifications for this thread. I thought it is somewhat unusual that nobody had posted for a whole day.

I am glad that you had good news on the health front. Let's hope that everything will be sorted out in due course.

I am so sorry that you have to go through this with the other person involved in an accident hiring a lawyer. I just saw a report on the TV here yesterday that it is the latest craze in the UK that people are saying they have whiplash even after a minor accident and try to get compensation. This is driving up the insurance premiums over here.

I hope you will enjoy your stay at AKL. One day won't be enough. This is such a wonderful resort. We went for one night in January and now I want to go back again this year, but have no vacation left.

Glad that it doesn't seem to be a life-threatening situation for you! Prayers that the treatment goes well.

People can just be so greedy! Hopefully the police report reflects the lack of injury at the scene.

That's great! You'll love AKL and you'll want to be back for more than 1 night:laughing: I think lounging by the pool and having ADR's there is perfect:thumbsup2

 So glad your DR went OK. Too bad about your DH. :sad2: I was rearended in January while stopped at a light. I am not sure if they young girl was texting or not, but I just wanted my car fixed since DS3 and I weren't injured.

It was an accident and hopefully this person will see that and realize this isn't her chance at making some money:mad:

:welcome: We are doing the opposite staying our first night at the BCV for the 1st time and the rest of our trip AKL. Jambo House has a great pool and Kidani Village has a water play area that looks like alot of fun.

Glad to hear you won't need surgery!!! That is still in the "talking" over here, but, I'm hoping not!!! The ESI shot has worked pretty well - only a little pain creeping in, but overall I'd say it's working. Sorry about the lady though, it stinks, and people who do that actually make it harder for someone like me who actually was injured, we've still not gotten anything settled with the insurance - it's been close to 11 months since the accident!! Good luck though!!!

YUMMMMMM and where is Mags - miss her around here!!!! :)

Thanks for all the welcomes and well-wishes! Clearly, we'll need to try the zebra domes!

I'm trying to read through as many AKL threads as I can in the next week, but I do have two questions:

1) Does anyone have a favorite poolside drink at AKL? We stayed at Poly in January and BC in February and although they seemed to be standardizing lots of drink menus, they still knew how to make old favorites. Any AKL favorites?

2) I've seen poolside movies at Kidani listed in activities guides and referenced in a few threads, but I can't find a schedule on buildabettermousetrip.com (my usual source for WDW outdoor movies.) Does anyone know where I could find a movie schedule for May?

Thanks again! :wizard:

Hi. I didn't get to read through all 80 pages, but you all seem to be experts, so maybe you won't mind answering my question. We will be at WDW in November staying at POR. (We are coming off a cruise, so only had enough $ left for a Mod. ;)) My DDs and I are spending a day at AK, then having dinner at Boma at 6:30.

My question is: what is available for us to do at AKL between 5:00 and 6:30. Obviously we can't use the pool. Are there places for us to see the animals? I read about fireside story telling, when does this occur? Are there playgrounds (DDs will be 5 and 8)? Anything else we should try?

TIA.
