OK: If Club Level = Concierge Level (double check with the renter)...couple things:

They are NOT all savanna view. In fact, when you book they tell you they will not promise which view (savanna or pool) you'll get. I THINK (but am not 100% sure) there are 3 2 BR lockoffs (so, broken down, that would be 3 1BR and 3 Studios) that have savanna view and 2 2BR lockoffs (so, broken down, that would be 2 1BR and 2 Studios) that have pool view.

They are all in Jambo house, 6th floor (the only villas/rooms that are up there).

Since there aren't many, they are VERY hard to book. You typically have to book them 11 months out (or close to it) to get them. Sometimes you get lucky. So if you're "speculating" based on number of points up for rent...the renter might not be able to get you what you're looking for. If they're renting a specific ressie (club studio for such and such a date), you should be fine.

I'm not sure how up to date this is, but this might help with the offerings:
http://allears.net/acc/faq_aklc.htm

Also something to keep in mind (might not matter to you): DVC studios have one queen bed and one pull out sofa bed (queen sized), NOT 2 queen beds like the standard (or most of the standard, excluding the bunk bed rooms) hotel rooms. You'll get a nice little "kitchenette" area (sink, microwave, toaster (I think), and mini fridge), though.
Thanks! Turns out there's no availability anyway. Sometimes I overthink things! :sad2:

Good morning, Jamborinis! :sunny:

Today brings another step forward for Bob. :goodvibes Home Health will do his final discharge and then he will begin outpatient day rehab (PT, OT and speech) at one of our local hospitals on Friday! Five months!!

Awesome!!!

...hey, anyone watch the newest installment of that new show My Yard goes Disney ?? It featured the AK!!!

I keep missing that show & for some reason, I haven't set my DVR for it. I will definitely have to try it next week.

Brandi,

Sorry I'm late to the game - you may even be gone by now. That's what I get for not checking in!! :headache: For more moderate places (although they would be a couple blocks north of you) Eatt at Hubbard and State, Pizzeria Uno (used to have a personal pizza/salad combo), PJ Clarke's at Columbus and Illinois.

Morning Jamborini's:goodvibes

My weekend is here:woohoo: So of course I was awake at 5 am for no reason:laughing:

121 more days until WDW:dance3:

Hi everyone-
First time writing on this thread. I have been a lurker. But I wanted to share our first stay at AKL CL this past weekend. Just as background, we started with a 5 day on the Disney Dream, BLT for 7 days and then AKL CL for 2 days (as a Father's day present).

We planned for a relaxing 2 days at AKL CL and Sunrise Safari to end our vacation. It was a great stay, we stayed at the hotel the whole time. We did a luggage transfer from BLT to AKL CL, went to epcot for EMH, then AKL around 2ish. We threw them for a loop, because after we got through the gate, we self parked our car, and walked in, so we had to ask for someone to bring us to Club.

Arusha View, Bunk Bed room
I forgot to ask for a bunk bed, because I heard that they do have those for club. Within 15/20 mins, she was able to change our rooms and got us setup in a bunk bed room on the zebra trail, arusha view not too far down. It was a perfect location, room 4421. Things we noticed, it was a little dusty, room was dark, loved the animals in the curtains, crack in the bunk bed. This room was near the between the main lodge and 1st set of elevators on the zebra trail. So it was convenient to the lodge and the pool (Simba's club, arcade, Mara's). We checked out the view, wandered around the lodge for a bit, then got ready for dinner at Boma's.

Simba's Club
My DS (10) and DD (7) wanted to go to Simba's Club rather than Boma's. We've been there numerous times, and it's just too exotic for them. They are chicken nuggets & pizza kids. And they don't like Disney mac a cheese, they'd rather have out of the box mac a cheese. go figure. Anyway, the were ok with the club. I think they were expecting Oceaneer's Lab (from DCL). So they were disappointed. My DS & DD just played on the PS2's and watched Tangled I think. We were able to order 2 servings of kid's pizza for my DD and 2 servings of kid's chix nuggets for my DS, no problem.

Boma's
We had dinner at Boma. Yummy as usual. Love my Zebra Domes.

Animals (of course)
Anyway, after dinner, the kids and DH went back to the room, they didn't want to do the night vision with me, so I went by myself. It was okay, I think I saw a couple of giraffes sitting down in the distance and something else closer to me. The next day we tried to do the animal bead activities. My DD loved it, but my DS was just a tad too old for it. We loved playing music in the evening with them. Great couple of guys who were teaching and playing. We loved just hanging out in the room and watching the animals, went to Sunset Overlook (which had some unusual smells, which I wasn't sure where it was coming from), went to Uzima pond & overlook, went to Arsuha Rock several times during the day and there was always something diff (feeding pelicans, finding Mickey using the equipment, checking out the different animals)

Sunrise Safari
It is only on Thursday and Sunday mornings and is only available if you are in Club the night before. We got a letter the night before about was going to happen on this. We arrive in the lounge between 6:30 & 7, meet in the lodge at 7:15, then go backstage to the the safari, then breakfast at Pizzafari. So we arrived at 6:45 (they took our names, gave us wristbands, scanned our tickets), had coffee and juice, until 7, when we quickly scarfed some food, before going downstairs to meet at 7:15. We split into 2 groups, went through a superficial security check, and got onto disney buses. The disney buses took us backstage to kilimanjaro safari. Our guide was super knowledgeable and worked at AK, before moving over to AKL so she was able to tell us alot about behind the scenes stories. Very cool and nice. It was a great tour, breakfast was ok. It was like a catered event (with separate seating, hostesses at Pizzafari). All in all we loved the safari and all the stories, explanations and picture opps of the animals. Our guide was super.

Final - Magical Memory
We left to drive home after the safari and realized my DS had forgotten his special bear at AKL. We all thought of "Lotso" from Toy Story 3. Anyway, we called AKL, we could no longer talk to Concierge since we had already checked out, she transfered us to Housekeeping. Housekeeping looked in her logs and Lost and Found and did not see anything about it. She took my room number, name, description of the bear and my cell phone number. She said someone would call back in the next day or two (this was Sunday night). So by tuesday, we hadn't heard from her nor anyone at AKL, so we thought he was "Lotso". Wednesday comes and we get a overnight fedex package from AKL. It's our bear! We were definitely glad to have him home. It was nice that there was no lag of waiting for them to call me back, giving her my address ... They just sent it asap. I know this must happen alot, but really, it was special to us that they did this.

Anyway, thanks for everyone on this thread's help on planning our stay at AKL. I hope this review helps someone.

What's their website? And are they reliable? I am still thinking about it! Thanks.

Oops it is the TimeShare Store. They are Disboard sponsor so I would say they are pretty reliable. I signed up for email listings and in their emails it states they now rent points.
