Saint Augustine? Flagler Beach? or Tampa info

I'd like to start planning my next year trips now and looking for info. Basically I've been so swamped with everything this year that I've done zero trips including no inexpensive beach trips. Next year I'll have several times when I can take trips. SOoooooo...


In your experience what do you like about the Tampa area, Flagler or Saint Augustine? I've only driven in them and never stayed. Do these areas have other things to do besides visiting the beach? When is the best time to go and how much is it to stay at a good hotel (just clean, near beach, etc) My parents will be coming with me and maybe a college aged sibling. Looking for ideas on things to do .

have a brother in St Augustine and a cousin near Tampa.

Now Tampa is very nice and has lots to do. Considering a like the gulf much better than the ocean - would recommend it.

that say there is alot to do in St Augustine - if you are interested in history.

We LOVE St. Augustine and hope to have a house there some day. The beaches are nice, particularly in the Anastasia State Park. While I grew up and love the beach I have to have other stuff to do and there is plenty to do here! It's a cool town! History but much more, culture, shopping, winery, restaurants, gator farm, marineland, lighthouse...

Also love the Gulf Coast beaches and water. Spent a few trips to beach by Tampa and a week not long ago. Unless you stay ON the beach we found getting to public beach areas was tricky. We went to a baseball game. Busch Gardens, Ybor City, Tarpon Springs and Johns Pass....

Flagler is south of St. Augustine and Marineland. Have driven through, mostly residential.

I live in Tampa. The beaches are in St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Treasure Island, etc. There is a ton of things to do depending on what you like to do. Other than the beach, what are you interested in?
