Hello-

Has anybody sailed the week of Halloween before? I just booked a 7 night Caribbean cruise on the fantasy sailing October 28-November 4. I am wondering if the ship will be packed? I'm worried it will be to crowded since it is Halloween. Also, what is the weather typically like? We have sailed the disney Magic only a 3 night in February and absolutely loved it, so we are looking forward to our first time on the fantasy and doing a 7 night, but wondering if I should push it back a week. Thanks

I was on the Magic for Halloween in 2014. It didn't seem any more crowded than the other 2 cruises we have done at that time of year (but were not actually over Halloween). We won't sail on Halloween again, however, because my kids missed regular trick-or-treating too much. There was a party on Halloween night, but my kids thought it was lame. The weather is usually good that time of year but it is the tail end of hurricane season so there is always that risk. Temps are still fairly warm and the ocean will still be warm as well. We have gotten lucky 3 years in a row and had perfect weather in October/early November.

We've been on 2 cruises over Halloween. The ships are full but not "packed". The only thing we found to feel long was when the characters would come out in their costumes and the line for photos with them were longer. That said, they are still shorter than you'll often find in the parks. Weather has been great. Hurricane season officially ends in Nov so you are late in that season but water temps are still good at Caraway Cay and beaches. Prices are also cheaper The only reason we are doin Dec instead of Oct this year is that I now have 1 in college and can't pull her out(she plays soccer and that season doesn't end until mid Nov.) You will love it!

I've done 2 Halloween cruises on DCL. I don't think they are anymore crowded than the surrounding weeks. One thing to be prepared for is that they reduce some of the regular movies and substitute older Halloween movies on the tv and in the theatre.

Weather has been up and down. Usually good but a high chance of some rain or wind - and occasional rough seas. One year, (the year I sailed Carnival thank goodness), there was a hurricane (Sandy) the week before Halloween. We caught just the tail end of it with some pretty rough seas. Another year, we missed Castaway Cay due to high winds on our Halloween cruise.

Thanks so much for the replies! I will stick with those dates, my daughter also will turn 7 during the cruise when we are at Castaway Cay, and what better way to spend your birthday!
