Wondering if the ship moves alot that time of year. Knowing we'll be going in hurricane season makes me wonder if the seas are more restless.

We liked it when you could feel the ship moving on our last cruise, but that was in Jan.

Also, how is the weather usually that time of year. Thanks in advance to any response...

Of all the months I've sailed, October had the best weather. Go figure. :)

Okay, I take that back, I did have one late September cruise that went into early October and the ship did have to avoid hurricanes then. We ended up in Key West and skipped St. Maarten, but that was okay. The weather itself was great, though, no rain and great temperatures. My other October sailing had absolutely perfect weather.

Go in October and enjoy! :)

Thanks for the imput. My DH and I are also sailing on Oct 3, 2002 (our 10th Anniv.) We can not wait. I hope we have the good weather and not the hurricane. We are sailing on the 3 day Wonder cruise.

Be prepared for anything :) We had great weather when we cruised around then. It was perfect -- not too hot, not cold. The seas were completely calm. It did rain when we were on Castaway Cay. We had quite a thunderstorm. We also saw quite a few storms from the ship, but didn't pass through any of them. The officers said that they try to steer around storms if possible. If there is a hurricane though, you might end up with rough seas. We went through rough seas on our West Coast/Alaska cruise and bonine helped us through it. It was actually really fun watching the big swells :)

Like the above poster said: "be prepared for anything".
There is still a lot of tropical storm activity in October.
My October cruise rocked and rolled and experienced strong winds.

We are booked for Oct 10th. I am prepared for any type of weather. We may end up back here in Charleston like the Wonder did last October, due to a hurricane. That would be a hoot. Hopefully we will end up in Nassau.

We sailed on 10/12/00 on the Wonder. The first night was very rocky. We had 8-14 ft seas and lots of people were "getting sick" all over the ship. This was not because of a hurricane. After that it was smooth sailing(mostly at night anyway) and great weather. Good luck!
