Sago Cay Reception - May

We are in the very early stages of planning our DFTW for May 2013 after getting engaged this May watching Wishes on the Poly beach

One of our must dos for the day is to watch Wishes which means we have narrowed our choice of reception venues down to two ... Sago Cay or Napa Room.

I prefer Sago Cay I think but just a bit worried about the heat, will it be too hot to eat out there in May? I also though perhaps we could have the reception in the Whitehall room and then Dessert party out on the patio instead if it will be. We would like the 2pm ceremony I think.

We currently have 38 guests who have said they would like to come but as nothing is booked yet I am not taking this as the final number! What is the limit for Sago Cay please?

And one final question ... for now... can we have Mickey and Minnie come along if we are sitting outside on the patio? Thank you

Supposedly the weather can be beautiful in May, but when I was there this year and two years ago, both times it was in the 90s, so your planner may discourage you from having an afternoon reception there. The Whitehall/Sago Cay combo would work though.

I live in FL and May can really be hit or miss. It can be rainy and it can easily get into the 90's in the afternoon. We were initially going with May but switched to March for these reasons. Check to make sure they have a good backup location for rain before commiting!

Thanks Jilian, nothing is booked yet so I will look into March. We were there in May this year and only had two rainy afternoons, and most rides were walk ons hence our original idea to have the wedding in May too. We haven't explored any other months though!

Emima sweetie - As you know, our VR ws in May this year and there was a bit of rain later in the afternoon on our VR day (didn't affect us, as we were already safely installed in the GF!!). I think this was the only rain we saw all trip!! But it's true that May can be hitty/missy and I admit I stressed about the weather a lot because I was desperate to have our ceremony outside!! We were lucky!!
I am loving your plans so far!!!
