Do the doors to the verandahs lock at the top on the Dream? I'm concerned about my kids and the verendah.

Yes, in addition to the door handle there is another lock at the top of the sliding doors on the Dream

Yes, all of the ships have a redundant child proof lock on them. There are 2 separate locks to keep the doors closed and little ones in side like posted above.
