Safest place to stand during MK fireworks?

OP, I get where you're coming from. It's kind of like a mob when the show is over. We've done the Plaza Garden viewing dessert party a few times, and I love it. One thing I've noticed is that they open up the garden area as soon as HEA is over and I always see a few people come in there and lay down/relax while the crowd thins out. We typically sit in there and wait, too for at least 15 minutes. I'd say try to find a spot near there and as soon as HEA is over and the CM opens the gate, go in and relax for a bit.

Were doing the dessert party exactly for this reason, we’ve been in the park for HEA probably 10 times but never actually go and watch it bc it’s too much with the kids/strollers so this time we’re doing the party to see the projections without the crowds

We are doing the dessert party for this reason, too. We watched HEA in October and we could not find a good viewing spot, but that was our fault as we lost track of time and only tried to find a spot about 30 mins before the show started. We ended up to the right of the castle before the bridge to Tomorrowland. Our view was partially obstructed by a tree, plus right after the show started to ladies came and squeezed their way in right in front of us (so they’d be behind the white tape line). Because of them, our boys couldn’t really see anything. We knew we’d be returning this summer for an extended stay with multiple opportunities to see the show so it was okay. We decided to splurge for the dessert party so we know we’ll have one night with a decent view.

Watch from Main Street and as soon as it is over, turn and go into a shop.

No, just fireworks. Although I still very much enjoy the show from the out-of-park viewing places like Poly even without the projections. It's still a good fireworks show at heart, overall.

Standing to the left of the hub was wayyyy crowded last time. Sounds likefrom the train station platform is the best idea on this thread rather than a desert party

Just be aware that sometimes that upper area of the train station platform is reserved for special events, groups, etc. It may be open on your night, but you may arrive to find it roped off - so be prepared in case that happens.

I’ll definitely do that! It used to be fairly easy to deal with the Hub craziness with one kid but now with two under 6 I definitely need to re-evaluate

I'd watch anywhere from 1/3 to 1/2 of the way down Main Street. Just where the crowd starts to loosen up a little bit so you have your space.

I think that's the best experience anyway. Everyone wants to crowd into the hub, but when you're that close to the castle, the show feels unbalanced. The castle animation dominates your field of vision too much, and people complain that there's too much going on.

When you stand further back, you get the perfect balance of fireworks and projections, so you can take it all in. Plus, Main Street frames the show really well.

Nope, but we get to see the water parade.

I have never had the feeling of being unsafe in the crowds, and feel like the dispersing is handled very well for the number of people there that are all (mostly) trying to exit at one time - doesn't bother me at all! We just take our time and 'go with the flow'!!

As for watching from the train station - it 'used' to be a great spot, until too many people discovered it, now it most definitely is not!!

Yes, well, some people might prefer to have the castle dominate their field of vision, but I've found the show to be really enjoyable a little further away. Whether you'll be able to see the castle depends on what obstacles/people are in your way, but at some point further back, the crowd is less dense and you can adjust yourself. I suppose it will depend on how crowded it is.

To me the better tip isn’t so much where you stand, but when it ends just stay put for 5 minutes. It clears enough by then that moving gets much easier. We just stopped trying by to leave with the crowd and it saves a lot of aggravation. Especially if you get a space in the hub since most people are moving away from it afterwards. (Not sure if this tip is good if you’re dead center Main Street!)

we prefer to watch the fireworks from our resort. No crowds and a short walk back to our room.
