Safepassage disembarkation testing in Vancouver

My wife and I are going on B2B Vancouver-->Hawaii->>Vancouver. Today I filled in the safepassage info for the 2nd cruise and wanted to register us for covid testing before flying back to the US. The only date that the app allowed for testing was April 26, the date we leave Vancouver on the 1st cruise. I called Inspire, and was told that due to volume of testing requests they had close further registrations, but will be reopening on 4/26. I guess I'll try to register as we are boarding the Wonder.

I do plan on bringing some of the proctored self-test kits as well.

BTW, The price that showed for the antigen testing was $78.25, not the $41.40 that https://dcl.safepassage.com/Home talks about. I don't know if that is due to the GST tax.

Do they just open at 10 am the day you get off the ship in Vancouver? That makes it difficult to get test results before our flight.

I have no clue what times will be when we actually disembark. For the one day they showed appoints, the times you could register for were from 8:00AM to 10:45AM in 15 minute intervals. Our return flight isn't until 6:45 PM, so I'm not worried about time.

The DCL agent I spoke to today said they would administer tests for cruises greater than six nights. The remaining unanswered question seems to be the quarantine plan. Not sure if they are helping with that or not…

I thought that was just for the unvaccinated under 5’s. Maybe they will open it up to other passengers for a charge.

Could you let us know if you can reach the Vancouver port WIFI for the ship? We apre concerned about the stability of the ship’s WIFI for a connection for the proctored test.

Some Guests may be required by their home country or state public health authorities to show proof of a negative COVID-19 antigen or PCR test result before returning home by air. Inspire Diagnostics, Disney Cruise Line’s third-party testing provider, offers this optional service for $98.33 per person for PCR testing, and $41.40 per person for antigen testing. Guests are responsible for knowing what type of test their home country/state requires (PCR or antigen), and the window of time in which it must be conducted. Testing is conducted at the terminal after disembarking the ship. Results take approximately 45 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the type of test. Just writing to tell you how jealous i am that you are sailing on a B2B to Hawaii. We will be on the initial part of your journey, but leaving the ship in Hawaii for an 8 night stay at Aulani. We’ll be celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary on this trip….which was the last time we visited Hawaii. Good luck with the post testing

I believe that is intended for pre-cruise testing 1 to 3 days prior to sailing, not embarkation or debarkation testing. The post-cruise testing presumably is at the time of debarkation, not starting at 10am. The website indicates "Testing is conducted at the terminal after disembarking the ship." I suppose it could end up being in the same location, but I doubt it would be those same hours 10am-3pm.

Not to be a contrary, but I'd be surprised if they instituted something onboard at this point. There have been folks who needed post-cruise testing for months and asked for an option to pay onboard to test with the unvaccinated passengers. DCL did not make that available, and instead instituted a testing option after debarkation. Since the Wonder arrives in Vancouver on Tuesday, I think we'll find out more this week.

Somone in the FB Group contacted Inspire and they told them the appointment dates for May were not loaded yet and they would be available for the Hawaii to Vancouver cruise on 4/27.

Are you flying home day we debark? We are staying at the Fairmont by the airport the night we debark and flying next day so we may just get tested right at the Fairmont for our US entry test...the price difference is about $5.00.

Somone in the FB Group contacted Inspire and they told them the appointment dates for May were not loaded yet and they would be available for the Hawaii to Vancouver cruise on 4/27.

The price is higher than testing in the US....I am guessing due to some taxes or something.

Are you flying home day we debark? We are staying at the Fairmont by the airport the night we debark and flying next day so we may just get tested right at the Fairmont for our US entry test...the price difference is about $5.00.

Th safe passage web site shows times from 8:00AM to 10:45 for debark testing for the one day they show for making reservations.

I wish the US would just drop the entry testing....heck, even Canada who was such a stickler for testing dropped their test requirement and on Monday are dropping some more mandates.
